But I always used to date guys who were thuggish or had drug addictions (omg) but i really just want To meet hot nerds. I want a video about how to meet a nerd or a person with character if you don’t know how to tell if a guy is marriage material ! and how to be that yourself. Anyway I know it’s not a question just a video I want to see. Too many people want to be wife material but we are very oblivious to what’s good man material and I have dated crackheads
2020.09.08 02:40 MermaidRiotGrrrlBooks To Read While We Wait for Season Two
Hey friends, how's the hiatus treating you? Hope you are all doing well and good. I saw someone on Tumblr share some shows and movies to watch while waiting for the next season of The Owl House and I thought I'd make some book recommendations. Most of these can be found at your local library and through the Libby app (which you need a library card to access but its very worth it I promise) If anyone would like to add books, please feel free to. Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Cordova - Bi latina witch mc, although she doesn't like having magic powers These Witches Don't Burn by Isabel Sterling - Gay coven in modern Salem does witchcraft We Set The Dark on Fire by Tehlor Kay Mejia - Two women marry the same man, fall in love with each other The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi - Six nerds on a heist/treasure hunt in 1880s Paris Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan - Human girls hate the Demon King but love each other (warning there is sexual assault in this book) Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst - Just an adorable wlw story about two princesses When the Moon Was Ours by Anna-Marie McLemore - A whimsical story about a girl who grows flowers from her wrists and a boy who paints the moon. I recomend checking out this author's other works too, she's a really good writer. The Dark Tide by Alicia Janiska - A woman offers herself as sacrifice to the Witch Queen and they fall in love Blazewrath Games by Amparo Ortiz - This one comes out on October 6th and it's like How To Train Your Dragon if the dragons went to the olympics) Lobizona by Romina Garber - A novel rich with Argentine folklore, werewolves and witches abound! Spellbook of The Lost and Found by Moira Fowley-Doyle - If there's one thing Moira Fowley-Doyle does well it's curses, this book has a lot of them A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab - Magicians can travel between parallel Londons Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde - Takes place at a con and follows three different characters through the con, a nice tribute to fandom Her Royal Highness by Rachel Hawkins - A normal girl goes to a boarding school in Scotland and her roommate is a princess The Princess and The Fangirl by Ashley Poston - Another book set at a con, but this time a girl switches places with an actress to solve a mystery. It's a sequel but I didn't read the first book and I could follow this one. Radio Silence by Alice Oseman - A heartwarming story about friendship and platonic love Not Your Sidekick by C.B. Lee - The daughter of two heroes falls in love with the daughter of two villains The Never Tilting World by Rin Chupeco - The planet stands still, one side always facing the sun, the other always in darkness. Really good world building and I also recommend reading other works by this author because they are an excellent writer. The Falling In Love Montage by Ciara Smith - Two girls go on dates promising they will not fall in love with one another, guess what happens I had more but this is enough for now. Comment any other book recs you might have!
2020.09.03 19:36 Original1oneFamous women who left LVMs and thrived (examples)
last night I was thinking about how there have been so many women who dated LVMs and how their lives would be vastly different had they never left. the supermodel Giselle desperately wanted to marry Leonardo. She left him, married Tom Brady and has kids and been married for years. the model Chanel Iman dated Asap Rocky, he wouldn't commit to her. she then because depressed until she met her current husband Sterling who proposed to her within a year of meeting and they now have two daughters. the singer Cassie dated Diddy for 10 years of her life he refused to commit and triangulated her. As soon as she left him she got engaged, married and had a baby within a year. and of course everyone knows the story of Ciara and Future. To all of you queens who want relationships please take a look at these examples. We all think we can change LVMS but they're hopeless. Leo is still single in his 40s chasing women half his age, Future continues to get random women pregnant, Diddy is on the internet crying about another ex he mistreated and is hopping from one young woman to another, Asap Rocky is still a playboy running wild. Take a leap of faith queens and learn from these queens. Don't settle for these creatures.
2020.08.30 18:58 Ghost-QuartetUnderrated [FRESH] Threads: August 2020 Edition
One of the highest upvoted albums of the past month is literally five years old… werk
Hello again ye few but faithful. I honestly considered making last month’s one year anniversary thread the final installment of these threads but I decided against it because I realized if I don’t overuse the word “Underrated,” who will? For those of you clicking on one of these threads for the first time, welcome, this is a monthly sub feature where users can discuss and recommend [FRESH] posts that have come out in the past month that went under the radar. The sub has crested 200k subscribers but unfortunately these new users haven’t really been spreading the wealth around and the sub is more top heavy than ever. Big releases are bigger than ever but smaller releases continue to be pushed to the wayside. Dozens, if not hundreds of threads are submitted to the sub every month and the vast majority of them won’t receive more than a handful of upvotes and zero comments. In my opinion discovering new music and supporting smaller artists should be core values of this sub, and these threads attempt to contribute to that. Read on for instructions on how to participate!
How this thread works:
In the comments below, link to the [FRESH] threads posted within the last month (after August 2nd) that you feel very strongly about, with the genre in parentheses beside it (however you describe it). Also include a little blurb as well where you try to sell the song to potential listeners. They'll be edited into the post.
Preferably it would look something like this:
(Genre) Artist Name - Song Title: Description (Energetic Bubblegum Pop) Anonymous Pop Girl - Bop Song: The production! The vocals! Listen to this if you want your wig snatched!
Feel free to talk as much as you want, if your pitch is too long I’ll edit it down and link to your comment.
Anything with less than 50 up votes on the [FRESH] thread in the past month is fair game! Albums, videos, and songs are all accepted. This includes songs released before this month that were only posted this month. It can be your post or someone else’s.
If you aren't in a position to include the link itself just the title is fine, but like, help a guy out.
This wasn’t an issue last month but just to be safe I’ll only be adding five links per user to the main post. Feel free to link and gush about as many as you want in the comments though!
If you do comment more than five and want some specifically to be up here, indicate that, if not I’ll just arbitrarily pick some.
Avoid submitting things just to submit things! Be your own quality control. Post the songs that stuck with you all month, the songs that you really think other people would enjoy.
(Moody Folk Pop)Laura Viers - Turquoise Walls: Indie folk queen Laura Veirs has offered a couple of poppier tracks for her upcoming album, with Burn Too Bright taking a more rock oriented take, and Turquoise Walls taking a more mellow approach. Light but lush synths and a driving beat support Veirs' usual acoustics. It's a good track for those who might be curious for more folklore-adjacent music that lean harder on the folk side. (Feisty House Pop)VINCINT - Hard 2 Forget: Up and coming gay pop star VINCINT delivers (in my opinion) his best song to date, a thrilling house anthem that even has some touches of deep house during the chorus. His vocals are strong and confident and the melody is super fun to listen to, it’s a really great song to just jump around and live your pop star fantasy to. (Black Excellence Pop)Ciara ft. Ester Dean - Rooted: Ciara and Ester Dean are both massive hitmakers so naturally they’ve barely managed to scratch the underside of fifty upvotes and are this month’s autoincuded pick. Life’s funny like that. Regardless of how much attention it got this song goes hard, it’s a thumping, unapologetic track that leverages as much sound as it can get its hands on to spread its positive message. (Wavy Funk/Soul)Omar Apollo - Stayback: This song is wavy, trippy, mind-bending… you get the picture. The vibes are strong with this one as Omar croons over some funk guitar about a love that he just can’t seem to express… although he does seem to express his bisexuality (I assume) in the video pretty well. It’s very modern and old school at the same time.
(Folk Pop)Emmy the Great - Mary: Emmy the Great is a british indie folk singer who has already released 3 albums to critical success. “Mary” is the second single off up her upcoming fourth album April / 月音 and is a really cute folk pop bop (Chill Hip Hop Pop)CHIKA - U Should: Foolish is the man who doubts CHIKA's abilities. This gorgeous and chill ballad features every single one of CHIKA's strengths and shows a lot of promise for her future projects. Fantastic production, great vocal singing AND rapping, and a bit of an off-beat move for an up-and-coming rapper. She's showing versatility with this one and you don't want to miss it. (Soul/Piano)Celeste - Little Runaway: UK popheads might know Celeste as the winner of this year's Sound of 2020 poll by the BBC as the number-one predicted breakthrough act of the year. I'll admit the only other song of hers that I'm familiar with is Stop This Flame (that's a really good song too if anyone hasn't heard it) from earlier this year but this one also stood out to me from the first listen. At only 11 upvotes I think it's very underrated and her vocals really shine on this song. I can't say much else because I need a few more listens to get to grips with this one but I think it's definitely worth checking out. (Chill Electropop)Luna Shadows - The Nineties: Luna Shadows is known for the full packet (catchieness and aesthetic) and this song is no difference. Everything from the dreamy melodies, delicate vocals to the danceable rhythm is pop perfection and need to be heard by more people. Also the music video is a must watch. (Moody Pop)Eivør - Let It Come: At her strongest, Faroese singer Eivør is fierce, furious, the raging of a wounded Mother Earth. At her sweetest she's dominant, hypnotic, the tiniest of birds warbling the loudest. Let It Come showcases her vocals in a foreboding song of change, melodies rising into distant shrieks. (Folk)Angel Olsen - Waving Smiling: Accompanied by nothing but her guitar, Angel Olsen reflects on the bittersweetness of accepting the end of a relationship. Olsen's voice carries emotion like no other's and she has the lyrics to back it up. Lie on the naked floor and listen. (Indie Pop)London Grammar - Baby It’s You: It’s definitely more upbeat than their older sound. London Grammar is more known for their moodier songs, but this one takes a different approach that I’m sure pop fans will love. (E.T.'s Sister Song)ELOÏSE mp3 - Area51: The Artist Formerly Known As ELOÏSE is carving out a niche for herself, expanding into the realm of layered, pounding synthpop. Area51 starts slow, its arrangement blossoming into a hectic chorus. At a mere two and a half minutes, it wastes no time in worming its way into your head. (Psychedelic Funk/Soul)NAO & Lianne La Havas - Woman: This one’s for the ladies… Lianne La Havas is hot off of her new album and NAO hasn’t released music in two years, but they put their differences aside to team up on this track that we honestly don’t deserve. Both of them have incredible, distinctive voices that work so well together and they’ve cooked up a great duet that allows them both to shine. (Classic Pop)Violet Days - Still Dreaming: Violet Days, an underappreciated Swedish duo, runs on peerless songwriting and classic arrangements. Still Dreaming plays with the theme of lost love perhaps the best, with vocalist Lina expertly handling each nuance of the lyrics, particularly in the obsessive, guitar-heavy bridge. (Heavy Synth Pop)The Aces - Kelly (Fickle Friends Remix): A really fun and groovy remix that is a wonderful marriage of the styles of The Aces and Fickle Friends. Bouncing synths are intermingled with chirpy guitars, vocal manipulations, and a great electric guitar finale. This one should be a favorite of traditional popheads and those that lean more experimental. (Soporific Bedroom-Pop)tv room - Love You Less: A subtler kind of hyperpop, tv room drowns this song in synths and reverb and all sorts of quirky effects that give it an almost hypnotic feeling. I just feel like I’m spiraling down the rabbit hole at 3am when I listen to this, the melody is so addictive. (Flamenco Pop)Guitarricadelafuente, Feten Feten - Limité: I've been a fan of Guitarricadelafuente for a few months now and I'm in love with his entire (quite small) discography! Together with the duo Feten Feten he released this beautiful, atmospheric song that will make you want to dance Flamenco through the streets of Valencia. The song consists of fast-paced claps, violins typical Spanish guitar sounds and a beautiful male singing voice among others. If you like Rosalía, then I think you may enjoy this song (and the other songs by Guitarricadelafuente) a lot! (Soft Country Pop)Skott - Darling: Quirky singer-songwriter Skott has her own take on melody and lyric, and it shines through most clearly in this sweet late addition to her much-awaited debut album, Always Live For Always. Light guitar and the softest of cymbal touches cradle her sibilant pronunciation of each phrase. (Dark Electro-Dance Pop)Annie - Dark Hearts: Of Annie's latest string of singles, Dark Hearts is easily the most bombastic one. With sharp, striking synths and a glorious key change, Annie takes no prisoners on this club ready banger. Where American Cars was more chill and brooding, Dark Hearts arrives with force from the very beginning and doesn't let up until Annie whispers her last breathy line.
(Dark Pop)Mothica - Blue Hour: A fully cohesive work, rich with lush synths, relatable lyrics, cutting-edge beats, and mature, throaty vocals. Hands Off bleeds euphoric denial; Blue Hour exults in dissociated dissonance; SPIRAL soaks in a warm pool of syrupy sound; R.I.F.P. invokes the timelessness of music-box horror. (Adventure-Pop)Linus from the Stars - Brave Adventures: If you want pure positivity, listen to Linus from the Stars because he sounds like a Disney movie. For the past few years he’s been churning out EPs of clean pop with a twinkle in his eye and Brave Adventures is an especially cinematic entry into his canon, three really strong tracks that live up to the EP’s title. (Pop R&B)Wolftyla - Wolf in Color: A fun, easy listening debut EP from one of the artists featured on the new K/DA song. Wolftyla has a really soothing voice and the production is excellent (there's even a track co-produced by Timbaland). Full of fun, summery, feel-good vibes. (Party Girl R&B)Keke Palmer - Virgo Tendencies: True Jackson VP is all grown up and she’s ready for a good time. Keke uses silly voice mail interludes to string together a series of hoe bops and party girl anthems to create a (mostly) delightfully trashy experience. It’s not the deepest release of the year, but you can definitely get turnt to it. (Indie Pop)Holly Humberstone - Falling Asleep at the Wheel: From the first time I heard the EP’s titular song, I felt a sense of familiarity. The vocal-focused production is very reminiscent of other songs we’ve heard in the 2010s, but Holly’s voice sets it apart enough for me. She adds the emotion that would’ve made the otherwise calm production boring.
2020.08.24 10:12 windex-chanHow to deal with my boyfriend's mom
(I'm still in school if that changes anything, I'm a 15 year old female and my boyfriend is 16, going to college after lockdown. I live in the UK where you're considered a legal adult at 16) So me and my boyfriend have been together for a little over a year. Hes the love of my life and I know he feels the same, but there's only one problem: his mother. When I first went to his place and met her, I loved her. She was so nice and even my Dad liked her. But things went downhill when my dad and her mom started a kind of friends with benefits relationship, but Dad had feelings for her and she lead him on to believe she shared these feelings. Dad was always buying her things, giving her money, paying for food deliveries she ordered when we had sleepovers at their place etc. (They're very poor because she is extremely alcoholic and spends way too much on alcohol) Then she began acting distant towards him and told him that they were basically done and "sorry for fucking with your head". Turns out she was just using him for money. He stopped going over there but still let me go there to see my bf. She will ground him for things that aren't even his fault (His pets damaging things while hes not even in the house, staying over my house an extra night when he wasn't told not to, etc) and will ground him for a whole week for these things. When I say ground I just mean not letting us see each other She always says horrible things but sugarcoats it to sound nice. One time me and my bf were in a poly relationship (I really liked this guy so my bf and him agreed to both date me but my bf decided he didnt like it and my ex agreed to leave so me and bf could be together) it was messy. I was upset because I loved my ex but I didnt blame bf for anything but he still blamed himself. We were both crying and called to cheer each other up, but I went afk at some point. When I come back I hear his mother talking to him, telling her I cheated on him and he deserves better. This made me cry and I hung up before I could hear more. She treats him horribly. A few examples are when she kicked him out in the middle of Storm Ciara, even though it was also snowing in his village and wouldn't let him back in. She was also feeding his beloved gerbil large amounts of chocolate, but luckily he found this out early and put a stop to it before the gerbil could suffer serious health issues. He tells her everything, and I mean everything. He tells her anything I say, absolutely anything that happens she knows so I cant voice this to him. He loves her but I can't blame him since as someone with an emotionally abusive mother it's hard to let go and stop loving them. I can also tell hes being manipulated. He convinced him not to go the college he wants to go to because its "too far away" and doesn't seem to want him to move out. But tonight was the last straw. I had a nightmare and he was comforting me but he was really depressed and tired so we got into a small disagreement. He went to his mom for advice and she messages me, basically saying I'm too much and if I keep going the way I am he'll leave me and told me to leave him alone, basically telling me to fuck off. Hes now asleep and I'm crying, I know it's not his fault but I'm still upset with him for seeing that and letting it happen. I messaged him a few times but no response I know his mother doesn't like me and I don't like her either. I keep making excuses not to go to his place because she never leaves the house and I don't want to be around her, especially not whilst shes drunk. I'm scared she'll try to break us up and even my Dad said she talked about "terminating our relationship" (like it's just some contract and our relationship isnt a real relationship) I love him so much but if that means dealing with her I don't know what to do. When we're older he wants us to live with his mom instead of getting our own place but I do not want this. I pretend to like her for him but don't know how much more of her I can take Update: so I just wanted to add this. I talked to him about the message his mom sent me and he seems completely ok with it. All he said is that shes not going to apologise for it. I know shes his mom but that doesn't mean he should be ok with her insulting his girlfriend. I wouldn't be ok with my Dad doing that to him and it kind of hurts hes completely alright with her doing it to me
2020.08.12 14:48 BIPOC_in_STEMScience Discussion Series: We are experts and researchers who study the challenges that face Black, Indigenous, and people of color in STEM. Let’s discuss!
Hello Reddit! Science has a diversity problem. From 2002 to 2017, around 50,000 people earned Ph.D.s each year, but the percentage of Black PhDs graduating increased from just 5.1% to 5.4%. This is concerning for a number of reasons. A large body of research shows that diversity in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) improves the outcomes of the scientific enterprise. Further, the lack of diversity is damaging to the public when it comes to trust in science, willingness to listen to expert scientific suggestions, and patient health. For example, research shows that African American patients receive better care and are more likely to agree to invasive interventions if they have a doctor that looks like them. However, since 2000, the number of Black students in medical schools has only grown by 1%. Currently, only 6.9% of medical students are Black and they only make up 7.3% of medical school applications. Additionally, studies show that Black medical students, faculty, and doctors face significant discrimination, which leads them to leave the profession. Other studies have shown discrimination against Black scientists across multiple scientific fields when it comes to funding, Black academics face bias when presenting at professional settings, BIPOC faculty receive worse student evaluations, and they experience racism even in non-academic fields like tech. So even increases in Black students majoring in STEM fields do not resolve all of the issues. Join us for an open dialogue about the reasons for the lack of racial and ethnic diversity in STEM, the impacts that has, and potential ways to improve the representation in STEM for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). 2020.08.12 02:16 angelicmari02I know something that could ruin a relationship
F 18 here (: For the past month or so, my two bestfriends have been dating and I genuinely like them together. Lately, let’s call them Anna and Ciara, Anna have been acting a bit strange around Ciara. A few days ago, we were all in a discord call with friends and Ciara went to go have a shower. It became quiet because it was quite late so I was like asleep. I woke up to hear Anna say “man, I want to hold Leia’s hand” randomly. Quick back story, Leia is Anna’s ex girlfriend. And I was quite confused since Ciara hates Leia with a passion since Anna and Leia cuddled without Ciara knowing. Not once or twice, on multiple occasions they have met up and cuddled. I stayed quiet and I clicked off the call to go be utterly confused. A few days passed and Ciara doesn’t know that Anna said it, and it hurts that Anna said that without hesitation. I know that things are better off not said like this but when it comes to wanting to hold hands with your ex girlfriend is weird. I mean, Anna and Leia both cheated on their old partners to be with eachother and they felt no remorse for doing so. I just don’t want to see Ciara hurt by someone who she loves and have Anna constantly secretly going over to Leia’s house to cuddle. The only reason why Ciara knew about the whole cuddling is because Anna’s snap map location was on and Leia posted a pic of her cuddling Anna and one of Leia’s friends sent it to Ciara. I just don’t know what to do and it’s making me feel guilty knowing that Anna wants to be back in Leia’s arms again despite her and Leia being taken.
2020.08.03 07:07 tiny_doughnutAFLW Sign and Trade: Master Post
Hi everyone! Going to keep an eye on incoming signings and list changes as we go along, don’t hesitate to post any articles that you see and give me a poke if I haven’t updated! Hope you’re all staying safe and well, and we’ll be back at Ikon Park for season 2021 soon 🍩❤️ Points worth remembering for this trade period:
The trade period runs until Wednesday 12th of August, however players can continue to be re-signed and restricted free agents (new in 2020) can move clubs until Monday, 17th of August.
Players qualify for restricted free agent status if their club offer a lower-tier contract than they were previously on. If a rival club has a better offer, their existing club can either match or allow the player to freely move.
Delisted free agents may still find a new home until 2pm, Friday 21 August, after which the AFLW draft order will be confirmed.
Clubs can sign up to 27 players (including up to three rookies) before the draft, a date for which has not yet been set.
The Victorian draft nomination rule (players could choose Geelong, Melbourne metro or Victoria) will no longer be in effect this year. The rule - which gave players a degree of choice if they were unwilling or unable to travel for the part-time competition - was only in place for Geelong's first two seasons.
For the vast majority of these signings, I’m taking a best guess on the length unless specifically stated by the clubs in their announcements. If I’ve had any slip-ups, pls let me know so I can update!
2020.07.31 06:14 Taxi_DancerIs That You, Daddy? Part 3 (Sequel to The Parchment)
The auditorium surrounded a large stage where a motivational political commissar stood, impatiently waiting for the children to file in. She was flanked by more compliance officers. Behind her, hanging down from the ceiling was a giant blue American flag with the white hammer and sickle in the upper left corner, and behind that was a large white screen which could be retracted into the ceiling. The next few hours were filled with the motivational political commissar leading the girls in upbeat patriotic songs, combined with stories of heroism, history lessons of the great Socialist insurrection, and weeks old news videos of the victorious United Socialist States armies marching across Mexico, and Canada, and Europe. And every thirty minutes, the motivational political commissar led the girls in the Pledge of Allegiance. Alexia sat as if in a trance. She cheered when it was time to cheer. She stood and said the pledge when it was time to say the pledge. She clapped when it was time to clap. And she watched, without watching, the videos of the great Socialist victories. But the whole time, all she could hear was Officer Ungoya’s dying voice. “Look away, young-youngs! Look away!” After dinner, Alexia and her friends marched back to their old, familiar bay. Though tired, they were eager to see if Miya was back in her bunk. Perhaps she was resting, with a big bandage on her face. The image of her friend in such a state made Alexia shudder. But when they got to her bunk, Miya was not there. Her bed sheet had been stripped off and her pillow was gone. And Miya’s clothes were missing from the drawer she shared with Riko, along with the pictures of her beautiful mother. The three friends trudged through their chores, cleaning the bay and preparing it for end of day indoctrination. Alexia had resolved to ask the commissar if she knew what happened to Miya, although Riko and Harley had advised against it. Surprisingly, the commissar addressed the subject as soon as end of day indoctrination started. Clapping her hands and smiling broadly, the commissar said, “Children, I have some exciting news for you tonight. One of your classmates, Miya 09145 has been given a very special honor!” Alexia, Harley and Riko looked at each other with dread. “As you know, you all begin your pre-conscription training at age eight, so that by the age of ten, you can begin preliminary pre-military service! You’ll be doing laundry, washing dishes, helping in the kitchens, digging ditches, emplacing mine fields, watching for traitors, and planting flowers, all in preparation for your actual military service when you turn sixteen!” “But,” continued the commissar in a hushed tone, trying to build up the suspense, “your little Miya 09145 has shown such…um…. talent and enthusiasm, that the Head Commissar of the warphanage has authorized her to begin her pre-conscription service today! Isn’t that wonderful, girls?” The commissar clasped her hands together, mouth open in a wide, fake smile. The girls in the bay stared unblinking at the commissar, saying nothing. “But… but…” said Alexia timidly. “But Miya is only five. Her birthday is next week. I have a pair of socks with no holes in it that I was going to give to her.” “Her father is dead,” snapped the commissar, suddenly, her fake smile disappearing and replaced by a look of contempt. “We are fighting a war, children, and the sooner you realize that and make yourselves useful to the great revolution, the better!” Alexia’s shoulders dropped and she hung her head. So that was it, then. Miya was right. Her father was dead and now, Miya was gone. Alexia never had a chance to say goodbye, or gift her a pair of socks with no holes in it. Her heart shattered, Alexia thought, “Daddy? Mommy? Where are you?” Robotically, she, along with the rest of the girls, pledged, and sang, and clapped, and praised, as they had been taught to do by the commissars for as long as they could remember. At lights out, however, Alexia buried her little face in her pillow and cried and cried long into the night. And when the lights abruptly came on in the morning, Alexia’s pillow was still wet with tears. And so it continued like this for the next few days and weeks, as it has been for an endless forever of days and weeks, except that Alexia felt an emptiness in her heart, not only for losing her friend Miya, but also at the thought that her Mommy and Daddy may have been killed in the fighting. Riko and Harley, who already knew of Alexia’s suspicions that her parents had been killed, and that the person on the other end of the line may not be her Daddy, had done their best to cheer her up. Unlike Alexia, whose parents were conscripted while she was still an infant, both Harley and Riko’s parents were conscripted when they were older, their parents being of low-to-low middle class. Harley said that her mother taught her the code word “big sky”. When her mother called and said the code word “big sky” Harley knew that she was actually talking with her mother. Riko’s parents, who were serving together in the same unit in Sweden, had taught her that their code word would be “blossom” and so Riko knew that when she heard that word, she knew that she was talking with her parents. Alexia, however, never had the opportunity to establish a code word with her Mommy or Daddy and she resolved to find a way to establish that code word with her Daddy next time she spoke with him, if indeed that was her Daddy on the other end. The last Sunday of the month was approaching, and with it, that blessed three minutes in which she could talk with her Daddy. For the next week, the Children’s Pravda Network strangely wasn’t broadcasting anything new. They simply showed re-runs of old shows. Likewise, The Daily News for Children stopped showing the victorious progress of the Socialist forces, and instead had begun to broadcast cautionary stories of evil capitalists lurking behind every bush, and steps to take to report your parents if they don’t show the appropriate level of patriotism. Harley’s Mommy and Alexia’s Daddy were both serving in Canada, and the two little girls were disappointed at the lack of news coming from there. News from Sweden was also very rare, but Riko managed to keep up a positive spirit, seemingly recovered from witnessing Ungoya dying and returning to her usual jovial mood. On the morning of the last Sunday of the month, Alexia and Riko made their way down into the sub-basement towards Ms. Mercer’s music class. They were in a cheerful mood, today being the day that they could speak with their parents. Riko was scolding Alexia, telling her that she needed to eat dinner tonight, because that was what Officer Ungoya would have wanted and Alexia resolved to do that. However, as they entered the classroom, the usually upbeat and happy Ms. Mercer’s face was pressed against her desk, her right arm over her head and in her left arm she held what looked like a letter. She was crying inconsolably, whimpering, “They’re dead! They’re dead! My babies are dead!” More girls entered the room, their smiles and cheerful banter suddenly ceasing as they saw their music teacher’s pitiful state. They watched helplessly as Ms. Mercer fell to the floor, throwing the letter aside and rubbing her eyes with her clenched fists. “They’re dead! My babies are dead!” Nervously, Alexia picked up the letter and uncrumpled it. Though stained with tears, Alexia could read the smudged words typed in blue ink on the thick paper. “Mrs. Mercer, Deloris 57754, We regret to inform you that your twin sons, Private Mercer, Dean 11282A, and Private Mercer, Daniel 11282B, were killed in action in the vicinity of Uppsala, Sweden on - insert approximate date of termination here- . Know that your Nation and your Party grieve with you on your loss, and that your - insert name of Provincial Senior Party Leader here- salutes you in this trying time. Signed- insert name of Army Group Commander here-” Alexia noticed that Riko was also reading the letter over her shoulder and quickly tried to put the letter away. But Riko’s wide eyes and hands covering her mouth let Alexia know that Riko had read enough. Both Riko’s parents and Ms. Mercer’s sons were in the same army group fighting to liberate Stockholm. At least, that’s where the Daily News for Children said they were last time. Why weren’t they there now? What happened to the army group in Stockholm? It took some time for the other art teachers to come and assist and even more time for the compliance officers to come down and attend to Ms. Mercer. She was screaming, hitting, and spitting on the compliance officers and calling them names. She blamed them for supporting a government which had destroyed the nation and had sent her children to needlessly die in a country that had officially declared itself neutral. Finally, a warphanage nurse had to come down and sedate the music teacher before they hauled her out of the classroom. The whole time, Alexia was hugging Riko, trying to reassure her that her Mommy and Daddy were fine. Eventually, Riko nodded, forcing a smile and saying, “I’m sure they are okay. They’re Japanese so they make small targets!” The hours seemed to drag on for days for Alexia, who was alternately excited to speak with her Daddy, but also dreading the idea that it was just a government person on the other end. Keeping her promise to Riko and Officer Ungoya, she did not avoid dinner and gobbled down her meal of a slice of room temperature spam, three slices of a mandarin orange, and a doughy dinner roll, washing it all down with a cup of grape flavored drink. Walking quickly from the cafeteria to the phone call room, Alexia found that she wasn’t too far behind the rest of her classmates and was only five seats down in the front row of the darkened waiting room. She looked across the row to her left to see Riko seated in the very first seat. “So that’s why I didn’t see her at dinner,” thought Alexia. Before taking a seat in the room, each girl had to sign in on a call roster with a compliance officer. Therefore each girl was called to a phone on a first come, first served basis. Riko was sitting on her hands and biting her lips, nervously staring at the empty stools and the banks of phones. There were actually enough partitions for twelve children to talk on the phones, but since seven of the phones were not working, only five commissars were seated across the partitions behind the Plexiglas dividers who would be facilitating the calls. Surprisingly, Alexia didn’t have to wait long and the first five girls were called to the phones. Alexia took a seat at the fifth phone and groaned inwardly as the same, balding, fat, commissar from last month sat staring back at her from across the partition. “Confirm your name,” said the commissar, his voice crackling through the intercom. “Alexia 09129,” said Alexia, trying to smile as cheerfully and brightly as she could. “Alexia 09129,” said the fat senior lieutenant in a bored, dismissive tone. “You have three minutes after the phone rings to talk. Oh, wait. Because you have a penalty from last month for not displaying the proper positive attitude towards the government, your time has been cut to two minutes.” “Wait…but…” started Alexia, but she stopped herself short at the sneer coming from the commissar. “Oh, okay. Sorry. I’m sorry.” Alexia was again kicking herself in the head, even as the red light on the phone turned green. With less excitement and more trepidation than she had last month, Alexia nervously picked up the phone and said, “Daddy?” “Remember,” interrupted the fat senior lieutenant, just as he did last month. “If I hear any unauthorized discussion about our current operations or criticism of the government, I will terminate this call immediately. For your lack of proper motivation and positive attitude towards your government last month, your time has been cut to two minutes. Is that understood, Sergeant 47313? Over.” There was a pause, followed by the faint crackle of static, then the voice on the other end replied, “Yes. That is understood by Sergeant 47313, Commissar Senior Lieutenant. Over.” Alexia strained to hear the voice of her Daddy. He sounded more weary than last time, and the static was even worse. Was it her Daddy’s voice? She couldn’t tell. Her heart was beating quickly. She had only two minutes to decide if this was really her Daddy she was talking to. “You have permission to speak with Alexia 09129. Over.” said the commissar, pressing the headphones closer to his ears and hovering his finger over the red ‘CUT CALL’ button. “Thank you, Commissar Senior Lieutenant,” said the voice on the other end of the phone. “Hello, Alexia, how are you? Over.” Alexia’s heart dropped. Her father sounded either extremely tired or, she gulped, extremely bored. The static over the phone made him sound more robotic than ever. “I’m… I’m fine. Over.” Alexia was reluctant to say the word ‘Daddy.’ Not until she was sure. Again there was a pause, before the voice on the other end said, “Alexia. Are you okay? You sound troubled. Over.” Alexia’s mind was a jumble of feelings and expressions to which she had no words. She wished she had a code word. She wished she could believe that this was her Daddy. “What happened to Mommy?” she wanted to scream. “No. I’m fine,” she stated simply. “How are you? How are things where you are at? Over.” The commissar gave his same threatening gaze at Alexia, but she ignored him. “I am fine,” came the response. “We are fine. Our glorious advance is going well. We will be victorious if we follow orders. Over.” Alexia paused. So robotic sounding was the answer that Alexia believed she was talking to a computer program. “I’m sorry. I didn’t hear you. Can you please say that again? Over.” “Yes,” the voice replied. “I am fine. We are fine. Our glorious advance is going well. We will be victorious if we follow orders. Over.” Alexia felt like dropping the phone. This wasn’t her Daddy. This was someone reading from a script, to make her feel better and to hide the truth. Her Daddy was dead. “I need to know,” Alexia said, feeling the heaves of tears beginning to form behind her eyes. “I need to know, please. Is that you, Daddy?” There was a long pause. Through the static, Alexia could hear heavy, almost labored breathing and sniffles of tears. “Alexia, I must follow orders and say what must be said. But know this, on the day that your mother and I left you, we cradled you in our arms and I swore to you, my little Allie, that no weapon fashioned by man will separate you from my lo…” Click “Your two minutes are up Sergeant 47313,” said the commissar. “Alexia 09129, report back to your bay.” “No!” protested Alexia, weakly. “Please! Please just one more second! Please. My Daddy was going to say something. He was going to say that he lo…” The uncaring gaze that she received in return told Alexia that it was no use. She got up from her stool and walked towards the door. Her stomach was doing somersaults and she wasn’t sure if she should be happy or not. “Allie! Daddy called me by the name Mommy always calls me when we spoke on the phone. Allie!” So lost in thought was Alexia that, as she passed behind Riko, she didn’t notice that Riko’s head was down, the phone had dropped out of her hand, and that she was weeping silently. That night after end of day indoctrination, Alexia dreamed of a small white kitten with long back ears, big almond eyes, and a funny gap toothed smile. The cat jumped from a table and landed with a barely perceptible thud on the floor. Alexia smiled, thinking about how the kitten looked so much like… “Riko!” Alexia bolted up, looking across from her. Riko’s bunk was empty. In the red light, she saw a shadow walking across the bay towards the windows. Alexia crept out of bed, her lips tightening at the squeaks of the rusty supports as she climbed down. “Allie?” whispered Harley. “Shhhhh,” whispered Alexia, pointing to the shadow of the little girl slowly but determinedly walking towards the windows. Before they new it, the little girl slid the window open and leapt skillfully up the sill. Only Riko could be that agile. The windows should have been secured, but this window was opened during the hot summer months when the AC went down, and the lock to secure the window had been broken. It was never fixed. Harley and Alexia reached out towards Riko, gasping. “Riko, please,” begged Alexia. “We’ll get in trouble if we get caught.” Riko stared back impassively from the window sill, her silhouette outlined by the bright, full moon. “Riko,” whispered Harley. “What are you doing?” “Those weren’t my parent’s,” said Riko. “They didn’t even sound like my parents and they said… they said… they said they didn’t know anything about ‘blossom.’” Suddenly, the entire bay room was illuminated by a bright spotlight coming from one of the perimeter guard towers outside and an alarm sounded. Riko turned to look back at her friends, smiling a big, gap toothed smile as a tear fell from her cheeks. Waving, she said, “I miss my Mommy and Daddy.” Riko spread her arms wide and leaned backwards, allowing gravity to take her as she fell backwards. Three compliance officers suddenly burst into the bay and, along with Alexia and Harley, watched as Riko disappeared over the edge of the open window sill. The light from the guard tower followed Riko as her body fell down to earth and made contact with the cement three stories below. The spotlight lingered on Riko’s broken, but strangely peaceful form for a couple of seconds before shutting off with an abrupt ‘click’ which cast the surroundings in darkness save for the dying light of the moon. The days and weeks passed in a blur for Alexia. She could not concentrate with her studies and her lack of an appetite made her listless, despite Harley’s attempts to get her to eat. Even electrical prods from compliance batons given by angry compliance officers who noticed Alexia’s lack of proper motivation for the great revolution seemed to elicit a very limited response from her. The Children’s Pravda Network and the Children’s Daily News even stopped showing stories about the victorious Socialist armies liberating the world. Instead, the news was filled with reports about villainous Old Republic Americans and their Mexican allies crossing the border north into Texas, while Old Republic Americans and their Canadian and French allies were crossing the border south into New York and Minnesota. Alexia also briefly recalled hearing one of her teachers talking in hushed tones about enemy ships from England, France, and Germany setting sail. It didn’t matter. None of this mattered now. Time seemed to pass in a grey haze, a haze that turned completely black when, on the last Sunday of the month, the phone did not ring for Alexia. Her father did not call. It didn’t necessarily mean he was dead, but only a few weeks ago the news was celebrating the glorious Socialist victories in Canada. Now, the enemy was coming here with with an army of Old Republic Americans who still clung to their old and outdated ideas. “I miss my Mommy and Daddy.” Riko’s last words rang out in Alexia’s head as she sat in the cold, dark, bay and staring at the window which Riko left the earth. “I miss my Mommy and Daddy.” The warphanage did nothing to fix the broken window locks, even after Riko’s death. In fact, the warphanage workers seemed very distracted as of late. Teachers, faculty, cafeteria workers, even the commissars, military guards and compliance officers all seemed distracted, almost trying to hide an undercurrent of panic. This mattered little to Alexia who, if her Daddy was gone, she had nothing to hope for. She was alone, and she wanted the pain of her loneliness to finally go away. She had no feelings left. She wouldn’t feel anything when the time came. “Alexia?” she heard Harley whisper her name behind her. “I miss my Mommy and Daddy,” Alexia whispered as she stepped towards the window. “Alexia! No!” Harley ran forward to grab Alexia. At that moment the bay was flooded with light as dozens of booted feet burst through the doors. “Up, children! Up, children!” yelled the female commissar who led that night’s end of day indoctrination as she stormed into the bay. She held a metal waste paper basket in one hand and was banging upon it loudly with a baton. “Quickly, quickly, quickly! Up! Up! Up!” Beside the commissar, ten compliance officers stomped in, banging on bunk beds with their batons and rousting the girls from their sleep. No one questioned why Harley and Alexia were already out of bed and they were quickly and roughly hustled out of the bay and into the hallway by fat Officer Butler. Although her face was still swathed in padded gauze, Alexia could see worry, almost fear, in Butler’s beady little eyes. Confused, Harley grabbed Alexia’s hand so that they would not be separated as the throng of sleepy and perplexed girls where half pushed, half shoved outside. Once in the hallway, Alexia could see that all of the classes were being roused out of their bays as compliance officers and military guards lined the crowds of children into ranks and rows. Like her, most of the girls were barefoot as they stepped out onto the cold concrete floor in their threadbare sleeping gowns. Over the intercom loudspeaker, a metallic voice instructed the children to behave in an orderly manner and listen to their compliance officers. The first ranks of the formation was already marching forwards towards the stairs and Alexia, still holding Harley’s hand as they marched, turned to her friend and whispered, “What’s going on?” Harley simply shrugged then shuddered as a nearby compliance officer angrily banged his baton against the concrete wall, yelling, “No talking! Eyes forward! Move quickly!” The hallways, stairs, and corridors were choked with children of all classes as they were directed to make their way down to the main floors and towards the showers. Already, the older classes were stripping off their clothes and hurriedly stepping on the conveyors which took them through the shower system. Alexia and Harley looked at each other in surprise. They had already had their weekly shower earlier in the evening. In all her six years of life, Alexia could never recall having two showers in the same week, much less in the same day. There was a considerable wait was the older classes were going through the showers first. After a while, Alexia’s class was quickly ushered into the shower bay by harried compliance officers. The children were instructed to remove their garments, but instead of warphanage workers placing the used clothing into separate canvas bins, the children were instead ordered to simply throw all their clothes into giant piles. Alexia stepped onto the shower conveyor with Harley following behind her. Alexia’s heart skipped and she gave a sudden yelp, shuddering as the icy cold water hit her. Apparently, all of the hot water had been used up. The soapy water spray was equally cold, as well as the rinsing spray, but mercifully; the heating driers were still blowing hot air which warmed the severely shivering children. No sooner had they stepped off the conveyor than they were rushed into the next bay where they would normally be issued a new change of garments. However, instead of the usual rude warphanage workers, the stations which were handing out the new garments were being manned by uniformed military personnel. A large bay door had been opened to the parking lot outside, and standing on her tippy toes to see over the mass of children, Alexia saw that the older classes, after changing into their new clothes, were being ushered outside. The new clothing looked different. It had COLOR! Still bereft of clothing, Alexia’s class was directed to fall into a single file line to the first station where a female soldier gave each girl a small cloth sack and three pairs of undergarments. Alexia’s eyes opened in surprise and awe as she saw that the undergarments weren’t dingy in color and threadbare, but were pink, and made of a silky fabric. They looked brand new! So shocked that she had been given such an amazing gift that Alexia paused. An impatient compliance officer charged her baton and yelled, “Get moving!” “Sorry! Sorry!” said Alexia as she moved over to the next station. Here, another soldier was waiting. This female soldier, who was from the Dark Continent, smiled broadly down at Alexia and said, “Don’t worry, little young-young. Don’t let those mean old compliance officers frighten you!” The soldier handed Alexia a long, light blue gown, and again Alexia’s eyes filled almost with tears. The gown was brand new! It was made of a soft, velvet material and smelled of powder. The female soldier then handed her a second gown and motioned Alexia to put them in her little sack. “Thank you! Thank you!” said Alexia, suddenly feeling sad. She hadn’t been called ‘little young-young’ since the day Officer Ungoya died. At the next station, another female soldier handed Alexia an overall skirt made of a deep blue colored corduroy material. The white Hammer and Sickle of the United Socialist States was embroidered over the left breast. Alexia had never seen such luxurious clothing before and she glanced back towards Harley. Harley’s eyes and mouth were also wide open, as if she were in an impossible dream. The children were gifted with three pairs of knee high white socks. Unlike the older ones which the children were issued which were used, thin, and more often than not had holes in them, these socks where brand new and made of warm, thick, cotton adorned with a knitted flower design. Alexia held her breath, as she never imagined that such a type of socks existed. Finally, at the last station, a soldier passed a pair of light blue sneakers to Alexia. Sneakers! Real actual sneakers with padding and cushions! Is this what the children of upper class citizens got to have? There were no compliance officers at this end of the bay, just female military soldiers. The soldiers weren’t as mean as the compliance officers, and although they still urged the children to hurry and get dressed, they smiled often. The soldiers directed the girls into a large partitioned section of the bay with privacy curtains hanging from metal frames inside which some of the long benches were brought up from the cafeteria. The girls eagerly reached into their sacks to finally try on their new clothing. Alexia breathlessly put on a set of her new clothes, unbelieving that clothes could feel so soft, comfortable and clean. There were mirrors lining the wall and Alexia stared at herself for a few seconds, admiring how the deep blue skirt fit just right and how it complemented the lighter blue gown that was underneath. The socks were springy and very cushiony and the sneakers felt like pure delight on her feet. Alexia wondered if the little girl staring back at her was actually her, or tone of those bright and pristine posters which the government always displays of the ‘right thinking, loyal, and happy child.’ Tears came flowing unbidden from her eyes as she thought of how Miya and Riko would have looked so cute in these new clothes. Harley came up next to Alexia and spun around, admiring herself in the mirror. “Alexia, we look beautiful!” she said, giggling. Suddenly, Harley ‘yelped’ in surprise as Alexia reached over and hugged her tightly, finally unable to control her tears. “Do you think… do you think… do you think my Daddy would have thought I looked beautiful?” Harley returned her hug, ignoring the tears which were staining her new clothes. “Your Daddy isn’t dead, Allie. And, ‘yes.’ He would think that you look beautiful.” Another female soldier, this one an officer, entered through the curtains along with three other female soldiers. “My, my, my, but you ladies look especially presentable now,” she said smiling. “Quickly get dressed though! You have one more station to go to before we can escort you out the back and to your busses!” Busses? Harley and Alexia looked at each other in surprise. At the last station just next to the huge open bay doors, a soldier handed each girl two small white cardboard boxes, one marked with a sticker marked BREAKFAST and one marked LUNCH before they were gently hustled outside into the parking lot. Once outside, a soldier guided each girl into a formation facing a line of about thirty busses. Alexia stared in awe, as these were the biggest vehicles she had ever seen. The doors to the busses were opened and it looked to Alexia that they were waiting to eat as many children as they possibly could. All of the classes were gathered outside and military personnel were calling out names of children and directing them to climb aboard one of the busses. Harley and Alexia stood close, again holding hands. There was a chill breeze in the air as the night was unusually bright, not only from the spotlights in the parking lot and from the search lights in the guard towers, but also from the glow of fires which were set in at least twenty metal barrels near the doors leading into the warphanage. Alexia glanced at the flames dancing out of the barrels as many of the warphanage administrative and clerical workers emerged from the building with stacks of documents which they hurriedly tossed into the fire. “Give me your attention, children!” Alexia looked forward as the commissar who had awakened them only a few hours earlier stood in front of the formation. Compliance officers flanked the commissar, among them the Officers Butler and Williams. Alexia and Harley were standing in the second rank and, all of a sudden, Alexia felt a chill. “Listen carefully, children,” continued the commissar. She yelled louder to be heard over the wind and the other commissars who were calling out names at other formations. “You will be boarding one of these five busses, numbered from six to ten! Listen as I call out your name and which bus you will be boarding!” The commissar began reading down her list. “Betty 00201, bus number seven! Carla 01082, bus number five! Risha 01114, bus number six!” One by one, as their names where called out, each girl rushed to their designated bus. Alexia realized that for all of them, lifelong friendships were suddenly ending, with girls which they had considered sisters disappearing with just a final wave goodbye. “Harley 08504, bus number nine!” Harley gasped and squeezed Alexia’s hand before letting go. Sparing one last glance back at her friend, Harley waved, and then ran towards the open door of bus number nine. And, just like that, Harley was gone. Alexia’s shoulders dropped as she wiped her eyes. No tears came out. She was all out of them. “Ciara 08671, bus number six!” continued the commissar. “Jocelyn 08962, bus number eight! Maggie 09008, bus number ten! Alexia 09129, bus number nine!” Alexia heard her name, and was stunned beyond belief that she was going to be on bus number nine with Harley. So overcome by her good fortune she hesitated, an open mouth smile on her face. “Alexia 09129, bus number nine! Get moving!” repeated the commissar. Alexia stumbled forward and scampered towards bus number nine. “I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m coming!” she said as she shuffled past the commissar. “You still have your head in the clouds, Alexia 09129!” “Yes! I mean, no. I mean, I’m sorry!” Alexia said as she neared her bus. From near the rear of the bus she could see Harley waving excitedly at her. Alexia slowed down for a second and looked at a plaque mounted next to the entrance of the bus. It read “Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.” Alexia figured that was their destination, but she had no idea where it was. Alexia skipped up the stairs into the well lit bus and was greeted by the driver, a fat older man with a thick grey moustache. Two female soldiers were sitting in the front two seats and they said in a cordial tone, “Go all the way to the back and find a seat.” “Okay! Thank you!” said Alexia as she raced to the back of the bus where Harley was waiting. Her whole life, people wearing uniforms always spoke to her in either an uncaring or a rough tone. Alexia had never known anyone wearing a uniform to sound so friendly, or, at least not mean. The bus’s interior was something that Alexia had never seen before. Such luxury! The seats were built on an elevated platform and they were stuffed with thick and comfortable looking cushions. A warming heat was blowing through the vents above the seats which chased away the chill of the night. Surely, thought Alexia, this was a bus that the upper, upper, upper class citizens rode in! Harley stood up and hugged Alexia as she approached and they flopped back down into their seats. Alexia was right! The seat was the most comfortable she had ever sat in and, for the first time in her life, Alexia didn’t feel like a lower class citizen. It didn’t take long for the bus to be filled with nearly 100 squealing and excited little girls and shortly, one of the female soldiers seated at the front of the bus stood up and said, “Let me have your attention, children.” The bus immediately quieted down as all eyes were on the petite, Latina soldier who was in charge of the bus and its passengers. “We will soon be leaving for an Air Force Base in Nebraska. It’s a few hours’ drive from here and we should be arriving there by late tomorrow morning. You may put your bags with your extra clothes on the racks above your seat. You will also find a blanket there for each of you.” Many of the girls gasped in genuine amazement when the soldier said that there was a blanket for them in the rack above. Children stood up, grabbing blankets and handing them down to their friends. The blankets at the warphanage were barely thicker than the bed sheets and never kept the children warm enough in the winter. The ones in the bus were much thinker, smell fresh, and were soft and green. The soldier smiled patiently and continued. “If you get hungry, you have a box for your breakfast and one for your lunch and if you need to use the bathroom, there are restrooms in the middle and the rear of the bus.” Although it was still the dead of night, several of the girls opened one of the white cardboard boxes, and the ‘ooh’s and ‘ahh’s continued. Finally, the Latina soldier said, “Once we get to Offutt, we will escort you to a large hanger and you will be told what to do from there. Until then, keep the noise low and enjoy the ride. We will be dimming the lights because I’m sure you would like to get some sleep.”

#10 - Tre’Davious White - Cornerback - Buffalo Bills
Written By:jiggs_ Introduction Even in high school, it was obvious that Tre'Davious White was bound to be the greatest at his position. In fact, in his entire high school career he never gave up a single goal. I am, of course, referring to White's hockey career. In fact, looking just at the numbers, Tre White isn't just good, he is the greatest goalie in the entire state of Louisiana. Coming out of the Tre White Goalie Academy, many thought he would have chosen to be a hockey player, but luckily for the NHL he decided that football was where he truly belonged. Look, I know I just wasted a paragraph of an important top-10 writeup to get a pity laugh (pls?) from you all, but I think it's important to understand that the Buffalo Bills have never been an organization with a player like Tre White. The players that join the Bills are usually guys who keep their heads down and (try to) do their jobs well. Hell, the most exciting thing our players did in the decade before Tre White is dance in an Applebee's. And that's fine, if you're winning, but when you lose for so long I almost feel I'm missing a big part of the NFL fandom experience because they are all just so… boring. And it feels almost directly opposite of the fan experience that we have. Bills Mafia is outspoken and, quite honestly, batshit insane, so it would be nice to have a player who without question shows that football in Buffalo is more than just hard work, it's fucking fun. So please excuse me for wanting to make sure that White's personality (and his ability to perfectly emulate the voice of Vontae Davis) is being showcased just as much as his ability as a top corner in the NFL. The 2019 Season Now let's get down to the facts, because what is PFFs SIXTEENTH ranked cornerback doing in our top ten? Tre'Davious White allowed a 46.3 Passer Rating when targeted (2nd only behind JC Jackson), had six interceptions (tied-1st in NFL among qualified CBs), and allowed zero touchdowns all season (1st place, obviously). Tre White hardly ever gives up a big play, but if he does he sure as hell isn't going to let you in the endzone. Limiting touchdowns on big plays gives way for the Bills to make stops and force crucial field goals which kept our subpar offense in games. To add on top of the discussed stats above, Tre White also spent much of his time shadowing top receivers, which makes his stat sheet even more incredible. It also makes the ranking given by PFF even more baffling, considering we pull all of our stats from THEIR SITE. But I digress. Tre White is technically a zone cornerback, but the Bills smartly use him quite a bit to cover top receivers in a fairly convoluted match zone scheme (along with running man coverage a decent amount of time, as well). Here are some notable PFF shadow coverage stats for Tre White. Against OBJ he gave up only three catches on ten targets for 27 yards, effectively shutting down the Browns' top passing threat for the entire game. He also shadowed Courtland Sutton (1/7, 27Yds), Terry McLaurin (3/4, 27Yds), and Amari Cooper (3/6, 37Yds). These aren't only good players, they are great players. Many actually found themselves on this very list, and most had their worst game of the season up against Tre White. Lastly, my favorite stat among all of this was posted by Warren Sharp a couple months ago, when he said “Since 2006, White is the only player to lead the NFL in interceptions without allowing a single TD. 2019: 6 INTs, 2 forced fumbles, 4 tackles for loss. He just turned 25.” A truly mind-blowing stat, considering the last one to do this was future HOFer Champ Bailey. Now I think I will showcase some film work of guys who have gone through more time and effort to make a logical breakdown of some of Tre White's best plays/games. First, we have Baldy's Breakdowns. Ignoring the god awful film quality, Baldy does a fairly good job of highlighting some of the stuff that Tre White did to cool off a red hot Courtland Sutton. It's not super detailed work, but studying CBs isn't exactly the most glamorous thing. Next, we have an (admittedly long) breakdown of just about every aspect of Tre's game. As usual with these smaller accounts, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the film work here. Tre White's anticipation, in particular, stands out constantly on film and shows just how much work he puts in preparing before every game to know every route he will see. Lastly, I will link the NFL Turning Point from this year. This one is obviously leaving out the fact that it's against Duck Hodges, but it should not discount how fantastic Tre White played throughout the whole game. In particular, his interception against James Washington is of note as some fantastic technique against a double move. In summation, Gilmore and White were head and shoulders above the other CBs this season, so seeing them both in the top 10 was no surprise. I do think Tre White has a legitimate case for CB1 of 2019, but it's tough to argue against the DPOY and not sound like a homer. Legacy Tre'Davious White is 25 years old. We just (obviously) took his fifth year option and I fully expect the Bills to offer him CB1 money. A cornerback like Tre White is not only fantastic for every scheme in the NFL, but even moreso under McDermott in particular. Our zone bilitz scheme (reminiscent of Jimmie Johnson), needs top tier talent in coverage to make up for the relatively simple zone structure that a good QB can use against the defense if not disguised properly. Being able to place a top receiver on an island in any scheme is a luxury that does not come around often, and to have someone doing that at 25 is even more insane. Therefore, I truly believe we are witnessing a hall of fame career that has blossomed right before our eyes, and it is truly a treat to watch him work every week. Not to mention all of the dance moves I have since been able to master thanks to watching the master himself.
Written By:schmatz17 Introduction Step aside J.J there is a new Watt brother in-charge. The former Wisconsin product originally came to college as a Tight End prospect but made the transition to the defensive side of the ball in 2015. After an incredible 2016 season Watt found himself in the discussion of first-round edge rusher prospects, but due to his rawness at the position fell all the way to pick #30 (Sorry Packers fans) to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Since then the Steelers haven’t thought twice about selecting Watt who has quickly developed into one of the league’s most dominant figures on the edge. TJ Watt’s presence on the Steelers defense has been immense, as the Steelers have led the league in sacks per game over each of the three years since he entered the league. This past season we saw the Steelers defense return to the days of the Steel Curtain and nearly carry the league’s worst offense into the playoffs. The 2019 Season
Tackles for Loss
At first glance at T.J Watt’s statistics from last year, it is easy to see why he was a finalist for the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year award and selected as the teams 2019 MVP. Watt’s impressive ability to rush the passer helped the Steelers claim the third-ranked pass defense, as well as, the fifth-best defense in terms of total yardage. In a season filled with some of the dullest offensive play the NFL may have ever seen, the new era of the Steel Curtain was able to create enough turnovers to keep this team in the playoff hunt, much to the credit of T.J. Watts NFL leading 8 fumbles (most in Steelers history) and 36 QB hits helping to force bad passes (2019 highlights). It felt as though in each and every game Watt was consistently making plays and disrupting the offense, with a statistical season that rivals Aaron Donalds 2017 DPOY campaign. Although Watt ultimately did not win the 2019 DPOY award, he was the only player since 1993 to have 10+ sacks, 5 FFs, 3 FRs, and 2 INTs in a single season, and captured his second straight Pro Bowl, 1st team All-Pro honors (edge rusher), and 2nd team All-Pro honors (as a linebacker). Overall, despite a disappointing season for the Pittsburgh Steelers as a whole, the 2019 season gave us a peek into what this Steelers team can look like in 2020. With a healthy Ben Rothlisberger and Stephan Tuitt, the Pittsburgh Steelers could find themselves back in the playoffs in 2020, and perhaps help Watt claim a much deserved DPOY award to add to the Watt family trophy hall. Watt’s energy and leadership on and off the field will help usher in a new era of Steel Curtain defenses for years to come. Legacy Entering his fourth season in the league Watt is looking to live up to his brother J.J.’s (sorry Dereck) status as one of the elite pass rushers in history, and to further solidify himself as one of the Steelers All-Time great defenders. Ever since the James Harrisons 2012 season, the Steelers have been hunting for an elite pass-rushing presence, with likes of Jason Worilds, Jarvis Jones, and Arthur Moats failing to live up to expectations, it seems as though they have found their answer in Watt. Watt has been simply put exceptional in his first three seasons and might just be the best Edge defender in all of football. I fully expect T.J’s name to be in next season DPOY race and for it to be back at the top of this ranking. The Steelers 2017 draft class might have been too good with the likes of T.J Watt (All-Pro), Juju (Pro Bowl), Cam Sutton (solid player), and James Conner (Pro Bowl) all up for extensions this season, it hard to imagine the Steelers not losing some key pieces this offseason especially with Watt expecting to cash in big time. However, it’s not often that an NFL team lets a young top talent walk, so I fully expect Watt to return on a record-setting contract and to continue to solidify himself as a top NFL defender, and one of the Steelers legends.
#8 - George Kittle - Tight End - San Francisco 49ers
Written By:scmsf49 Introduction At this point, anyone who watches football more than a few times a year knows who George Kittle is. The 146th overall pick of the 2017 draft made it known last year that he’s not only the best player in the league at his position- he’s one of the best players in the NFL at any position. He doubled down this season, though missing a few games and playing injured in others might lead someone glancing at his numbers to believe it was a down season. The next paragraph will clear that up, but there’s an ongoing discussion about George Kittle right now that deserves to be brought up, and everyone who’s been refreshing the sub for news these last few months knows that that discussion pertains to his next contract. Kittle likely aims to, and deserves to absolutely shatter the tight end market. $11 million a season is downright disrespectful for a player who does more for the 49ers offense than any non-quarterback does for any offense, and it’ll be interesting to see what the eventual price tag is, especially when you compound his situation with whatever the hell is going to happen with the salary cap because of lost ticket revenue. 2019 George Kittle’s box score statistics don’t properly tell the story of his season (and they likely never will), but there are two numbers that do a pretty good job of putting his year into perspective. Kittle had 3.11 yards per route run. No other player, wide receivers included, broke the 3.0 barrier in 2019, and Julio Jones is the only player in the last decade to top 3.11. The other is the 49ers’ yards per carry in the run game. For the 2 games Kittle missed, the 49ers averaged 2.6 yards per carry on the ground. That number was 4.8 in the 14 he played. Kittle was an elite receiver, producing more per route than anyone else in the NFL, and he was an elite blocker, paving the way for one of the league’s best rushing attacks, which in turn helped set up the 49ers’ dominant play action. Kittle is a key cog in every single dimension of the offense. For the 2019 season, PFF awarded Kittle with their Dwight Stevenson award, given to the best player in a given season regardless of position. This is typically reserved for JJ Watt or Aaron Donald, and Kittle is actually only the 2nd offensive player to ever win the award after Tom Brady. His 2019 season was also the highest graded tight end season of the PFF era by a full 3 points. Some of Kittle’s notable blocks of the season include that time he destroyed Clay Matthews, and the the murder of a Falcon in a game where Kittle caught 11 passes and was essentially the team’s entire offense. The blocking is incredibly necessary and can be really entertaining to watch, but most people want to see crazy catches, and Kittle also delivers there, like when he somehow managed to get his feet down in the end zone against the Rams. Staying in the division, here’s a ridiculous catch and run on an injured ankle against the Cardinals. No discussion of Kittle’s 2019 is complete without the play of the year in the game of the year. Kittle is incredibly dangerous with the ball in his hands, he made that extremely apparent last season when he broke the record for yards after the catch - not for tight ends, for everyone. Sometimes, though, he doesn’t need to dodge defenders or make contested grabs. Occasionally it’s really, really easy. Bonus highlight: Kittle even finds time to make sure his QB stays safe. Legacy/Future There’s not really a ton to say about a third year player’s legacy. He’s been a top 10 player for two consecutive seasons and figures to continue doing that for years to come. Some 49ers fans might be (justifiably) terrified that the team will treat his contract negotiation like he’s just another tight end and not an elite offensive weapon, and the team does not have the luxury to trade Kittle like they did with Buckner, we don’t have a bunch of elite skill position offensive players sitting around to help offset a loss like that that would probably take the 49ers out of contention. Kittle’s contract situation, like any top 10 player, is a major storyline to watch for the next few months.
#7 - Patrick Mahomes - Quarterback - Kansas City Chiefs
Written By:DTSportsNow Intro: Patrick Lavon Mahomes II, quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, third season of his career but just his second starting. Already an NFL MVP, record holder, and savior of a franchise. Soon to be awarded the richest contract in NFL history and it may still be an understatement to what Mahomes has already done for this team. Despite all that 2019 didn't come without trouble. At one moment it seemed like his season could be lost for the year, and perhaps the trajectory of his whole career could change. But this is Mahomes we're talking about. He wouldn't go down without a fight, and so this is the story of Patrick Mahomes in 2019. Coming off an MVP campaign that saw Patrick Mahomes and crew fall tragically short of a Super Bowl appearance expectations were expectantly high. With the vulnerable Bob Sutton and his defence cast out of Kansas City, fans let their expectations fly as many had held back before the previous season. Talk of a potential 19-0 campaign was brought up by a number of fans, and how could you blame them? The Magic Man Mahomes had come in and brought the team to new heights not seen since long before many had even been born. 5,097 passing yards and 50 touchdowns were new season records for the Kansas City Chiefs, and would have been for a number of teams in the league. How would he follow it up? Chiefs Kingdom was dying to know. 2019 Season: It was a season that began much like it had the previous, 1,195 passing yards and 10 touchdowns, it was hard not to believe Mahomes may be on the path to reach even new heights not seen in the entire league over. Already on the path to another 5,000+ yard and 50+ TD season, we'd already seen him do it once; could he do it again? Winning convincingly against Jacksonville, Oakland, and Baltimore, could those 19-0 dreams be coming true? He had suffered an ankle injury in the first week and otherwise appeared fine, but was he? Over the next three weeks the Chiefs scraped by the Detriot Lions and suffered bad losses against the Indianapolis Colts and the Houston Texans. Mahomes, ended his Chiefs record streak of throwing at least 2+ touchdown passes against the Lions, just one game short of tying the NFL record held by Peyton Manning. He also suffered another ankle injury against the Colts as backup left tackle Cameron Erving accidentally stepped on it getting pushed back. After that second ankle injury it was clear Mahomes looked off, his rating and completion percentages were down as his bad throw percentage went up. But that was the least of his problems. During week 7 on a QB sneak in the endzone Mahomes went down and had trouble getting back up. Replay showed his knee getting bent weirdly and everyone feared for the worst. A knee dislocation and any ligament damage could sideline him for the year. We'd later find out that it was a kneecap dislocation and that he season may not be over, but he'd still likely be out for some time. But again this is Mahomes, and he only missed the next two matchups. In his first game back Mahomes came out firing, 50 attempts were the most he'd throw for all season and one was a thing of beauty. Although the Chiefs lost the game Mahomes showed he was back and ready to continue the fight through the season. The Chiefs would not lose again for the rest of the year and through to the Super Bowl following that game. As Mahomes healed from his injuries he returned back to his former dominant self, finishing the last 4 games of the season as the 2nd highest graded QB. Despite his missed time and being hampered by injuries, Mahomes managed to finish the season with 4,031 yards, 26 touchdowns, and just 5 interceptions. A season that would be pretty good for an average QB. Legacy: What can you say about a QB who in two seasons won league MVP and Super Bowl MVP that hasn't already been said? With just those two season as a full time starter Mahomes has already cemented himself in NFL history, and is on a path like few have ever seen before. Despite being injury hampered through much of the 2019 season Mahomes again to be one of the best QBs in the league. Proving that even an 80% Mahomes is still better than a number of other QB's at 100%. What's crazy too is that Mahomes admitted he didn't fully understand how to read defenses until halfway through 2019.
"I didn't understand how to read defenses until, like, halfway through last year," he said. "I understood coverages, but being able to pick up little tendencies defenses do, stuff that Brady and them have done — I was just playing."
With another offseason to study and learn how far can Mahomes go? Has he already reached his peak? After his 2018 season Mahomes started to get a lot of comparisons to Dan Marino, who similarly threw for over 5,000 yards in his second season; but Marino never won a Super Bowl. Mahomes is in new territory of career trajectory. He's in control of his own legacy, and that legacy in the mind of Mahomes and Chiefs Kingdom is GOAT or bust.
#6 - Russell Wilson - Quarterback - Seattle Seahawks
Written By:MattyT7 Introduction I must confess, father, for I have sinned. I did not always believe in Christ. That all changed in 2012 when the Seahawks drafted Future’s eskimo brother and Future Jr.’s daddy, Russell “Jesus Christ himself in a 5’11 snack of a fuckin body” Wilson. Since he’s been in the league, all Russell Wilson has done is win. He holds the record for most wins by a quarterback in their first 7 seasons (75), has a career passer rating above 100, and like a hundred 4th quarter stats and records because Pete Carroll has a fetish for sending people into cardiac arrest. He’s also the first quarterback in NFL History with a winning record in each of his first eight seasons and PFF says he leads the NFL in big time throws since 2018, which is a big deal since we all know the PFF big time throws stat is THE way to measure a quarterback. Very cool Russell! The 2019 Season Russell “clearly the hotter part of his relationship” Wilson was pretty damn good in 2019. NBC Sports kindly put together this handy list of the milestones and records Russ accomplished this past season. Spoiler alert, there’s a lot. The season began with more of what we’re used to from #3; putting Seattle entirely on his back. From handling the Steelers with a 300 yard/3 TD game in week 2 to throwing four touchdowns (including this absolute dime with a great catch from Lockett) en route to taking down the Rams, Russ was largely tasked with overcoming slow starts throughout the season with the teams stout commitment to the run game. Still, though, Russell Wilson delivered time and time again. Even in the loss to the Saints in week 3 where the deficit was simply too large to overcome, Russ “the Trouserhammer” Wilson threw for over 400 yards and scored 4 total touchdowns in the only game of the season where he threw 50 passes. The second loss of the season came at the hands of the Llama himself, a game in which the Trouserhammer threw his first interception of the season… in week 7. This midseason stretch saw a 5 game winning streak with wins against 3 playoff-bound teams in the Eagles, the Vikings, and the 49ers. Oh, and not to mention his 378/5 TD performance against Captain LASIK and the Buccaneers. The Seahawks would go 1-3 on the final four games of the season, but that didn’t stop the ol’ Trouserhammer from putting up a season stat line of 4,110 yards and 31 touchdowns to only 5 interceptions with a 66.1 completion percentage. He also added another 342 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground. In the 2019 season, we saw a lot more of that beautiful touch Russ makes to put the ball right in his receivers hands. We saw a lot of the magic he is capable of. This season also saw Russell deal with yet another poor year of offensive line play. Here’s the Trouserhammer managing to throw a dime on a trick play with turnstile Joey Hunt at center. The defense lost legend Earl Thomas. Doug Baldwin retired. And Russell “OG Mula Savage 420” Wilson went out and played the best football of his career. A major development in 2019 was the drafting and progress of rookie wide receiver DK Metcalf. Russell established a pretty immediate rapport with DK en route to a 900 yard 7 touchdown rookie season (and a 160 yard 1 touchdown performance in his first career playoff game). Wilson and Metcalf have been training throughout the offseason, and if DK continues to grow and thrive, we could see some EVEN BETTER football from the Trouserhammer. Not to mention he's an absolute smokeshow Legacy All Russell Wilson does is win, baby. He drags the Seahawks kicking and screaming to fourth quarter comebacks if that’s what it takes. After earning a Super Bowl ring in his second year in the league, Russell Wilson has genuinely grown and matured into a true, distinguished pocket quarterback with an impeccable escapability trait and knack to make magic happen. He has established himself as a true top 3 quarterback in the NFL and at 31 has plenty of time to dominate and earn some more rings. Who knows? He may even be able to nab a MVP vote someday on his journey to the Hall. Despite Pete Carroll’s belief in establishing a healthy run game, it would be a welcome change to see Seattle become if even just slightly more pass-happy, allowing the game to be in Russell’s hands throughout rather than forcing him to play hero in the second half. He has proven himself as an elite NFL quarterback and continuously put the city of Seattle on his big, manly, beautiful shoulders. Russell Wilson is my lord and savior. Russell Wilson is who I see when I close my eyes in bed late at night. Russell Wilson is the man I call daddy. And most importantly, Russell Wilson is one of the best players in the NFL.

If you recall in my top 20 worst songs of 2006 list, you might remember that I called 2006 as the worst year for music in the 2000s. Now like with every year, 2006 has some good songs, but these are some of the songs that are SUPER HARD to Find. Trust me, 2006 is where the good music was completely rare. Its like you had to go on like a long expectation through Asia beginning in the middle east until you finally made it to South Korea. Well, don;t worry my friends. Leave your bags and bottles of water at home, because I got the top 20 best songs of 2006. 20. Ne-Yo - So Sick 19. Justin Timberlake Feat. Timbaland - SexyBack 18. The All American Rejects - It Ends Tonight 17. Jessica Simpson - A Public Affair 16. The All American Rejects - Move Along 15. Beyoncé Feat. Jay-Z Déjà Vu 14. The Fray - Over My Head (Cable Car) 13. Ciara - Promise 12. Sean Paul - Temperature 11. Nelly Furtado Feat. Timbaland - Promiscuous 10. Rhianna - SOS 9. Mariah Carey - Don't Forget About Us 8. Fort Minor - Where'd You Go Ladies and gentlemen one of the most gorgeous songs of all time. No words can describe how beautiful this song is, and thats what this song is. Its just beautiful. The piano, that beat Fort Minor himself, Holly brook & Jonah Matranga, all of these elements all come together so perfectly. This song is about the perspective of the person left behind in long-distance relationships. It's a message about the consequences of putting career ahead of family. I know its something that we have to do, but I know for a lot of people, that can be tough especially if your the type of person who likes to work from home. This song portrays that message beautifully, in a way that actually makes you question "Why can't more rap music be like this". This song has alot of meaning behind it and thats why I love this song so much. Its meaningful, Mike Shinoda has some great flow by the way, the piano is just beautifully, the beat comes in to make that first crescendo feel inspiring, the beat is amazing, its just an amazing song. 7. Christina Aguilera - Ain't No other Man 6. Chamillionaire Feat. Krayzie Bone - Ridin Okay I know this song has a mixed reactions now a days, but how can you not love this. 5. The Black Eyed Peas - Pump it With the Black Eyed Peas third studio album Elaphunk, the last single "Lets get it Started", was hands down in my opinion one of the best songs of 2004. The same thing can even be said with this song. Their 4th album Monkey Buisness has the exact same notion, oh and believe it, it is the best notion to go out on because this song still rocks even to this day. This song has sparked alot and I mean a lot of controversy. However, I am going to be in the minority because this song is awesome. Yeah I get it this is the band that gave us "My Humps" and "Boom Boom Pow", but this song is an unstoppable force. That force gets stronger and stronger with each second and never goes away until you demand it. The production is awesome, and that sample is one of the most iconic sames of all time. The lyrics are them just bragging yeah sure, but at least they come off as real people. Yes and they do have a point. They teach the message that even bad acts can do great music. Even bad people can actually redeem themselves. However, with all of that, the best part about this song is the chorus. That chorus creates a party that you wanna be invited too, and you don't care if you get grounded because it was WORTH it. I don't get why so many people hate this song ok? Just because its The Black Eyed Peas? Hot dang you guys are so cruel. All in all, this song deserves to have alot more attention from all of you, and a reminder that even bad acts can make great music. 4. Fall Out Boy - Dance, Dance We all love Sugar We're Goin Down. This was the song that made Fall Out Boy take over the world in 2005. However a year later idmedietley in 2006, they released what is in my opinion their best song period. Yup, I do think that Dance, Dance is Fall Out Boys best song. heck even vocalist and rhythm guitarist Patrick Stump even admits that this was their best song. Honestly, I cannot disagree with him at all. This song maybe poorly constructed by it depends on how you look at it. We don't get very good with words especially during our first crushes or our first dates. We wanna express how we feel via actions and expressions, and this song express that emotion very well. That bass, that guitar the drums, all three of those elements just comes to together so beautifully in an incredibly perfect orchestra of rock music. However here is what I love about this song most of all, it has energy. I mean think about that after so many songs hat are just slow, sludgy and boring, its nice to finally has a song that has a real punch to it. 3. Eminem - When I'm Gone Ladies and gentlemen boys and girls its Mockingbird Part 2, and its alot better than you may think 2. The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - Face Down Fort Minor 'Where'd You Go was an amazing song, with incredibly meaning lyrics. This and Where'd You Go have similar messages, however this song is tackling a subject way scarier than putting for first and then your family last. This song is about dealing with an abusive husband, or wife depending on who you are, and the message is tackled here very well. Honorable Mentions

1. My Chemical Romance - Welcome To The Black parade The term "perfect" was rarely used to describe anything. Now a days its become a prominent description for almost anything, and yes even music. However, if there is a song from the 2000s as the most perfect song, it would have to be this song. The drums during the pre-chorus, and the crescendo when everything all comes together and blasts you in your ears in just remarkable. The lyrics are just perfect. This song is about excepting the death of a loved one or a friend and learning to move on, and that can be hard for a lot of people. The lyrics describe this notion in a way that nobody else really seemed to perfect even today. The melody is just, perfection through and through. This is the Melody you wanna recreate if you're even gonna write a punk rock song. The G major and E minor in between the bridge is just amazing, and brings forth one of the best key changes of the decade. The transition from G Major to A Major, Or E Minor to G flat minor if you're gonna do a minor version of this song. There are no elements that could've been better in a different song. This song is a loud brash of drums guitars without letting up but it all comes together in a way that only My Chemical Romance can pull off. Well that about covers the top 20 worst and best songs of 2006. If you didn;t see a song that you wanted in either on my lists I'm sorry. Remember the best lists should be about the music that you enjoy, and not what everybody else likes.
Okay let me make this perfectly clear to the music critics on the internet that are just ITCHING to write me hate mail. I do think that 2005 is a great year for music. Alot of the good music from 2005 are on another level of quality for me. Alot of these songs may not seem incredible too you, but I do love all of them. I do have alot of controversial picks for this list and for my honorable mentions just like my worst list, but trust me when I tell you that I will take Hollaback Girl over Dem Franchize Boyz any day. So, if you disagree with me, thats fine just don't kill me please. Just listen to what I have to say and take what you will with a grain a salt. The Songs will taken off the year end hot 100 from 2005/Canadian Hot 100 2005 The released dates are from November 2004-October2005 20. The Pussycat Dolls - Stickwitu 19. Gwen Stefani - Cool 18. Destiny's Child - Girl 17. Hilary Duff - Wake Up 16 Simple Plan - Shut up 15. Will Smith - Switch 14. The Backstreet Boys - Incomplete 13. Bow Wow Feat. Ciara - Like You 12. Shakira Feat. Alejandro Sanz - La Tortura 11. Coldplay - Speed of Sound 10. Avril Lavigne - Nobodys Home 9. Kanye West Feat. Jamie Foxx - Gold Digger 8. The Game Feat.50 Cent - Hate It Or Love It 7. Maroon 5 - Sunday Morning One of the biggest hits of 2003 was In This Dairy by "The Atatris", and I really enjoyed that song. The vibe is very charming, remembering the summer that the narrator in this song had. I have yet to find a song that gives me almost the same vibe that In This Diary gave to me, but in 2005 Maroon 5 actually managed to shock and surprise me. Yup, I bet you didn;t know that THIS SONG was going to make it one the list, but I really do love this song from the bottom of my heart. Adam Levine's was incredible, and has one of the most beautiful voices in musical history. The lyrics are exactly what I think of on a Sunday morning. Taking a slow drive, taking the time to relax and refresh ourselves for the week thats about to come, all of the lyrics all come together so perfectly. The horns were just ridiculous during the bridge, with the horn players blowing their hearts out. Sunday Morning really is one of the best simple songs that I have ever heard, and is the best song off of Songs About Jane. However, its not the number 1 simple song of the year. Heck is not even the number 1 best song of the entire year. We will get to that but lets go through the rest of my songs and then the honorable mentions. 6. Rhianna - Pon De Replay You know, I always saw the appeal in Rhianna, yes even from the beginning of her career. This song was Rhianna's first single and this is what happens when Rhianna is completely unleashed. I love everything about this song. Her singing is just incredible, and the girl could actually sing even at the age of 18. The lyrics are alright for mindless party song, but Rhianna manages to pull it off and make them work. The production is just awesome. Although, its not really mind blowing, its still a great production with an awesome and funky dancehall beat. 5. Kelly Clarkson - Behind These hazel Eyes 4. Eminem - Like Toy Soldiers 3. Green Day - Wake Me up When September Ends Okay don't get wrong, I do think that there are good songs on American Idiot. Yeah i know there was Boulevard if broken Dreams, but I do think that there is a song that's even better. You know, people love "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", and yet I have seen a lists where a person put this song on the list. This is hands own Green Days best song, despite a few...um "mishaps", here and there on American idiot. I have yet to see another person put this song on their best list instead of the same old "Boulevard of Broken Dreams". I do like "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" don't get me wrong, however I do believe its probably the most overrated green Day song that I have ever heard in my life. Trust me, I 've seen Boulevard of Broken Dreams on more best lists of 2005 than Wake Me Up When September Ends. Now thats good, but leaving Wake Me Up When September ends is really heart braking because I love everything about this song. First off, its the fact that Billie Joe Armstrong, actually took a break from politics in order to go for something alot more personal. I mean when was the last time you actually heard of a punk rock band getting alot personal rather than political? Second off, its the soft piano guitar strings in the beginning until we get the crescendo where Billie, Mike and Tré Cool, rocking their hearts out. The crescendo was super brilliant because not only does it hit you right in the gut , but Billie Joe Armstrong's voice is just beautiful. Third off is the bridge where Tre Cool bashes on the symbols like a boss, and Billie shredding the crap out of his guitar. This song really is the best song that Green Day has ever composed. Not only because of the fact that Billie Joe Armstrong is being a lot more personal, but also because of all three members going far and beyond what they would normally produce. 2. Mariah Carey - We Belong Together Oh come on YOU ALL KNEW this was coming. Honorable Mentions
Foo Fighters - Best of You
System of a Down - B.Y.O.B
Destiny's Child - Cater 2 U
Pussycat Dolls Feat. Busta Rhymes - Don't Cha - Don't ask I don't have an answer
The Black Eyed Peas - Don't Lie
Gorillaz Feat. De La Soul - Feel Good Inc
Coldplay - Fix You
Jennifer Lopez - Get Right
Gwen Stefani - Hollaback Girl - "laughs hard" I'm sorry, I so sorry "laughs Harder"
The Click Five - Just The Girl
Missy Elliott feat. Ciara & Fatman Scoop - Loose Control - She made one of the greatest beats of all time with this song. This songs production is spectacular, with the scaling xylophone adding an atmosphere that actually does want to make you have good time. Great song Missy Elliott, great song.
Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz Feat. Usher & Ludacris - Lovers & Friends
Eminem - Mockingbird
Ludacris Feat. Bobby Valentino Pimpin All over The World
Nickelback - Photograph
Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone
Natasha Bedingfield - Unwritten
Relient K - Who I Am Hates Who I've Been
Okay, now I know my number 1 pick maybe a bit unknown to alot of you, but just acknowledge that this is a very personal choice. If this were on somebody else's list, it be on it but I hardly doubt it would be number 1, or even to an extent number 10. This has always been one of my personal favorite songs of all time, and I am so happy that I get to finally share it with you.
Tyler Hilton - When it Comes
Yup, you got that right, "When it Comes" by Tyler Hilton is even better than Green Days "Wake me up When September Ends" and Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together". I loved this song from the very moment I heard from Totally Hits 2005. This is a simple song in the way I love it the most. The lyrics are distinctive, Tyler Hilton actually has chemistry to who ever he is writing this song too, and D Major will always be my favorite of the major scales when it comes to writing simple music. However, The bridge is amazing with the electric guitar wailing and making the song feel like it has life. The Guitar riffs are just beautiful However more than anything else, this song is the actual song that made me feel emotional. I'm not even kidding, this song actually made me cry when I first heard it. This song is just beautiful, one of the most beautiful songs of the entire decade. Normally simple songs are just songs that people bash on for being "unoriginal and cliche". However honestly, I do think that unoriginal is really an unfair criticism. Why do I think "unoriginal", is a very unfair criticism? Well this is all in because I think that the term "unoriginal", is well "unoriginal". Now, I do use the term uninspiring, but that only applies to song that sounds uninspired to me. I mean when it comes to best and worsts lists, it should be about the music that you enjoy, and not what everybody else likes or dislikes. Trust me, I have seen alot more worst lists where the lists feel so predictable. I have a lot more picks that nobody else would even put on the list just so I can have alot more variety. Honestly, I know when a simple song is done right, and this one of the prime example of a simple song done right. Tyler Hilton can actually sing, and his voice really does match up with the emotion of the song. This song is the best song of the entire year, because after so many hip hop jams, it was nice to finally have a song thats just simple and laid back to listen too. This song really is the best song of 2005, and my favorite song of all time. The next list will be my top 20 worst songs of 2006 and I'll let you know when it comes
2020.06.16 17:23 XkrantzTop 20 Worst Songs of 2006
2006 IS THE WORST YEAR FOR MUSIC IN THE 2000s GOODBYE!!!! No I wouldn't really do that to you, but at this same time...I really didn;t want to do this list to begin with. 2006 really is the worst year for music. Now for the public at large, 2006 was the year of RINGTONE rap. I mean there were other stuff but that Sub genre TOOK OVER THE CHARTS in 2006. I am in the minority that I think that 2006 is even worse, but BELIEVE ME. As we go though this list together, you're going too see why I think that 2006 is even worse than 2005 or 2009. Yeah 2007 may have more ringtone rap but I am going to talk about the year that ringtone rap was first brought to the world. I am going to talk about the 20 songs that made this year the worst year for music in the 2000s The Songs will taken off the year end hot 100 from 2006/Canadian Hot 100 2006 The released dates are from November 2005-October2006 20. Shakira - Don't Bother Ladies and gentlemen boys and girls may I represent to you the most boring song that Shakira has ever made. Trust me, I am big fan of simple songs but this song is a huge insult to simple music. Shakira has done alot of songs with a guitar and those were spectacular because she is a power house singer. In Don't Bother it sounds like she doesn't want to be there. The guitars were awful. The guitar strums actually made you wanna just sleep and never wake up to go through reality with an intelligent mind set. Its not like the lyrics are any better either. I don't know what the lyrics actually mean but what i will interpret them are, is he doesn;t need to worry about her because she understands. THAT IS NOT HOW A PROPER RELATIONSHIP IS SUPPOSED TO WORK!!!!! I'm sorry to be the moral stick in the mud but I have to get this rant out. This is not what a girl is looking for in a men. A man has to cook, clean, fight and yes even die for his wife. He has to complement her everyday, and has to apologize if he does something wrong. Shakira is denying all of that, and nobody is bothering to complain about it? HOW DARE YOU!!! Ok yeah their are woman who are pretty toxic, but I am talking about the people who don't have a toxic attitude towards each other. Bottom line, this song is going against the morals of a proper marriage, and thats what really makes me angry. 19. Madonna - Sorry 18. Trace Adkins - Honkey Tonk Badonkadonk 17. Fergie Feat.Will.I.Am- Fergalicious 16. 50 Cent - Window Shopper 15. Akon Feat. Snoop Dogg - I Wanna Love You 14. Bow Wow Feat. Chris Brown & Jonthá Austin - Shortie Like Mine You know, Bow Wow is sort of a mixed bad for me. I mean he can make some great music, with an example being one of my favorite songs from 2005 "Like You" Featuring Ciara. However, there are rare times when he can make bad music, and this is by far his worst work. Yup, this is a steal your girl anthem, and by far one of the worst I have ever heard. Chris Brown was pretty mediocre in the chorus, showing off to his audience that he can't sing. The production is very weak and doesn;t hit you right in the gut, and it just comes off as gross. Bow Wow is being at his most uncomfortable and immature as you may expect from your average steal your girl anthem. Yes "Girlfriend", by Avril Lavigne was a steal your boy song, but Girlfriend was at least catchy, had a really sick beat, especially during the bridge, and her singing hits you right in the gut. Also, I had more of a problem with the lyrics in "The Best Damn Thing",, than Girlfriend. Yeah I am sucker for catchy songs so SHUT UP!!! This song on the other hand is really immature, is really disrespectful to ones intelligence, and really disrespectful to ones heart. 13. Teddy Geiger - For You I Will (Confidence) Now here's an obvious choice that I like to put in, because so many people hate this song. However, I hate the following song for a different reason entirely. Yeah you guys would've ripped me a new one if this song didn't make it on to the list. Its bad, but I find it bad for a different reason entirely. The song is generic sure, but believe it or not, thats not the reason why I hate this song so much. Well then, what is the real reason as to why I hate this song in the first place? Well, let me tell you, its the artist himself. I don't usually say this for a lot of artists, well maybe minus 6ix9ine, Drake and even Justin Bieber, but Teddy Geiger just went through one of the darkest paths that you will ever go on. Justin Bieber actually went through a redemption and became christian three years ago. 6ix9ine did the following, drug dealing, domestic assault, gang violence choking a 16 year old girl in the middle of a mall, and molesting a 13 year old girl while posting videos of it. Drake is in the same league, with a huge hatred for Donald Trump. Now I'm not saying that not liking Donald trump is a bad thing, but he has SJW mentality and he wants it to never go away. Listen I really do hate politics and I wish people would actually stop getting so political and actually just enjoy music, especially people who make simple music. At least Justin Bieber and Kanye West did the smart thing and actually became Christians, and since then have been giving up slowly on their mainstream music careers. I do think that there are better singers that can sing this song, like Tyler Hilton, Ryan Cabrera or even Jason Mraz. Heck even Green day can sing this song better than you, and thats coming from a band that made one of the worst albums of 2004, American idiot. All in all, the song itself is not the problem, its the artists himself. Oh, but the next one will be the song itself, so I hope you're ready to dive into my number 12 song. 12. Saving Jane - Girl Next Door Normally I would like to put this song on the best because I am a sucker for simple songs. However, this song address a few things are NOT BIBLICAL, jealousy and Envy. I would like to put in idolatry, and idolatry is awful, but I don't thing Saving Jane is actually encouraging the concept of idolatry, she just cant stand it. Well ok, thats fine, but jealousy is ignoring the life that God has given to you, and envy is wanting what somebody else IN THE WORLD wants. What you want is what GOD, JESUS and THE HOLY SPIRIT wants you to have, like being in his presence, men and women working together and elevating each other, and people of different color getting along. Girl Next Door wants us to destroy that philosophy for good, by encouraging two things that go against God, and that is not good at all. SAVING JANE NEEDS TO BE GRATEFUL!!! BE GRATEFUL!!!! This song is NOT grateful, it is UNAPPRECIATIVE, IMPOLITE and shows NO sign of maturity as a human being at all!! This song sucks because goes against a few things that the Bible stands for. it goes against a few things that God stands for, and that is so heart breaking. 11. Nelly Feat. Paul Wall and Ali & Gapp - Grillz Oh god last year we had David Banner tin his song Play using bicycle innuendos. Is there a topic that less song worthy than this? ....Oh never mind I stand corrected. This is just a rendition of Air Force Ones, and yes iots even worse than what Nelly did with Air Force Ones back in 2003. First off, is that atrocious beat that never shuts up. Although it does fade out I don;t think it ever goes away. Just like with another song on the list, there is a hype man or in this case, a hype woman, who just hypes up Nelly, Paul Wall and Ali & Gapp right to the point where it becomes so immature that it hurts me right to the bone. Nelly's verse is mediocre, Paul Wall's verse is annoying and Ali & Gapp were the very definition of POISON. I don't like Nelly but he can actually make some great music. Take "Shake ya Tailfeather: for example. Yeah its not one of his best, but there's energy, there's good flow, and it sounds like something that would wanna be proud of In Grillz, he forces the ladies to listen to this song without any regret when they should no better and to take music seriously. 10 Eminem Feat. Nate Dogg - Shake That 9 Akon feat Eminem - Smack That 8. Christina Milian Feat. Young Jeezy - Say I One of the biggest hits of 2001 was AM to PM by Christina Milian it was friggin AWESOME!! Mostly because of that production The synths were spectacular and they really added in alot of depth to it. The beat is insane, and blend that Christina's incredible vocals and you got the makings of one of the best mindless party songs of all time. Oh, and it was WAY better than the crap we got literally 5 YEARS LATER thats for sure. This is hands down the most boring song of the entire year. Most of the time Christina Milian was pretty off beat during the vocals. Oh and Young Jeezy didn't even try to be on beat with his lyrics. Speaking of lyrics, the lyrics are really uninspiring. it's just your average rap brag anthem, which is something that should be analyzed, because there is a way to do brag anthems right. Take Pump It by the Black Eyed peas for example. With them , they acknowledge that they make alot of bad music, but they tells us that even bad acts can make great music, its all how you look at it. The production in this song is one of the weakest productions that I have ever heard of in my life. The beast doesn't punch you tight in the gut, it just grabs your ears for 4 seconds, and then leaves you throughout the rest of the song because you're going to easily get bored. All in all, this song is the most boring song of the entire year. 7. Pussycat Dolls Feat.Will.I.Am- Beep Will.I.Am isn't really one of my favorite producers. He has rarely made a song by an other artist that could actually surprise me. Although his contribution to his own band The Black Eyed Peas cannot be overlooked, his contribution to other artists has not been good at all, well expect for Busta Rhymes with the song "I Love my Chick". I wanna bring this up because collaborating with the Pussycat Dolls might just be the biggest mistake he has ever made in his entire life. Yup. this was going on the list. I was going to put Buttons featuring Snoop Dogg on this, but this song in my opinion is even worse. The beat is probably one of the worst that Will.I.AM has ever given us. It has no flow, and all for the soul purpose of being annoying. This is hands down one of the most annoying songs of all time. If you asked teenagers to come up with a soft in 10 minutes, it would sound way less annoying than what the Pussycat Dolls would ever come up with. The lyrics are just...dumb. I don;t want to get into detail about the lyrics because they were just dumb and stupid with no reason why. Honestly I got nothing else that I wanna say about this song. 6. The Black Eyed Peas - My Humps No need to introduce THIS pile of garbage now do I? Oh come on, you ALL KNEW that this was coming. Okay let me make a confession, I don't think the Black Eyed Peas made the most amount of annoying music, far from it. They provided nothing ground breaking yeah sure, but I didn't think they were the most annoying band that ever lived. I least they didn;t like brag about junk or anything like that making them like a bunch of lunatics. I think adding Fergie was a great idea, creating a whole knew sound for the band. Thats why i do think "Where is the Love", holds up as a great song in my opinion. This song is probably the most embarrassing thing that they have done in their career. Of course it wasn;t until they became super annoying in 2009 with their 5th studio album The E.N.D with stands for "The Energy Never Dies", although "I gotta feeling" ROCKS!! However we can still agree that this song SUCKS!!! The bland production and the beat is pretty easy to ignore. However Will I am and Fergie were the worst parts about the entire song. Fergie is at her most cynical and evil, well not until my #2 pick. However, she was pretty creepy and pretty much came off like a criminal bent on destroying the world. The way Fergie raps is just overly sexualized its actually one of the most disgusting things that she has ever done in her career. The subject matter is probably the biggest crime the Black Eyed Pas ever committed. A song bragging about shaking butts...yup. Now it may not sound like a crime, but they way they portray the concept of butts in a way that so over sexualized is actually grose. Did I ever mention the unbelievable repetition in this song? Whatcha gonna do with all that junk All that junk inside your trunk I'ma get get get get you drunk Get you love drunk off my hump My hump my hump my hump my hump my hump My hump my hump my hump my lovely little lumps Whatcha gonna do with all that junk All that junk inside that trunk I'm a get get get get you drunk Get you love drunk off my hump Whatcha gonna do with all that ass All that ass inside your jeans I'm a make make make make you scream Make you scream make you scream Look at this same that I got from google Lyrics. These are LITERALLY the lyrics to one of the biggest songs of 2006. Oh, and do you wanna know the funniest thing? In Watchmojo's video on the history of the Black Eyed Peas, they said that this song was an INSTANT SUCCESS!! How wasn an instant success? How did it become one of the bands biggest hits? I DONT KNOW!!! All in all, THIS SONG SUCKS!! NEXT!! 5. Dem Franchize Boys feat. Peanut & Charley - Lean Wit It, Rock Wit it Ugh, well I guess its only a matter time before I get to talk about THESE idiots again. Oh gee, the other song from Dem Franchize Boyz, why am I not surprised? Yup this song just terrible. First off is the creepy production. Okay, I do like hip hop dance songs, but when they sound like a friggin horror movie, its just awful. The production in this song sounds like death coming at you with a cythe, which if you are farmer, is the deadliest farming tool known to men. Second off is Dem Franchize Boys themselves being over the top and annoying, which is not a surprise. However, what really gets to me is the pathetic chorus, which is literally the title of the song, and THATS IT. I could go on, but I can't because I have to get to the rest of my top 5 and my dishonorable mentions so lets not waste anytime....even though I wanted to waste time. 4. Lil Jon Feat. E40 & Sean P - Snap Yo Fingers 2006 was the year of when HIP HOP DANCE SONGS broke out and took over the world. Yes 2007 did the same thing, but 2006 was the year that started it all, and believe me, it was terrible. Snap yo Fingers is one of the prime examples of this. First off is that terrible synth that never shuts up, and doesn't cut out not even when E40 & Sean P do their verses. Second off, is the subject matter "snapping fingers"? WHAT THE HECK!!? HOW IS THAT EVEN A DANCE MOVE!!!? THIS SHOWS THAT YOU HAVE NO CREATIVITY AT ALL!!!! AT ALL!! AT ALL!! AT ALL!!! AT ALL!!! A dance is actually moving your body in some sort of crazy pattern, not something like clapping your hands. YOU CANT JUST CLAP YOUR HANDS AND CALL THAT A DANCE MOVE!!!? Thats not how it works you idiot. Oh, and for that matter, you seriously couldn't think of anything else. I mean for the love of God, I was a dumb little kid when Walk it Out by UNK came out, and I actually like that song because it legit sounds like a dance move that I can dance too, because its something NEW and CREATIVE. I can't believe the charts actually thought that THIS excuse of not trying is a good idea. UGH, I can't believe why so many people actually like this song. If you like this song I want to talk to you. No I;m not trying to hurt you or anything like that I'm not. I'm actually very curious. I HAVE TO KNOW WHAT DOES THIS SONG GIVE YOU!!!? All in all, this song sucks., not because he didn't get anything right, but because he didn't try to get anything right, and thats the worst way a song can feel. Good god, I just wanna move on. Can we get a song thats alot more complex and alot more fun? Wait whats the next song? No.... NO! NOO!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! 3. Julez Santana -There It Go (The Whistle Song) Ya'll have never heard this song before? Well... THIS...IS ALMOST THE EXACT THING AS THE WHISTLE SONG BY THE YING YANG TWINS!!! Oh, and let me tell you about THE FACT THAT ITS EVEN WORSE!!!! Oh, and do you want me to talk about how God awful this song is? Oh, Oh ho ho ho. Where do I even begin? Well, lets begin with the fact that the production is creepy as CRAP!! Julez Santana adds on to the nightmare fuel with the lyrics, and the way he raps them. He has no flow, no personality, and no reason why he should be anywhere near a recording studio for that matter. Also I would like to point out the fact that the amount of repetition is just annoying as pure heck!! I can think of the times he says the three magical words "there it go". Trust me that will be literally one of the ONLY THINGS YOU HEAR in this song. Along with that is the GOD AWFUL WHISTLING!!!!!! Yeah, ho ho ho you didn;t think I forgot about that didn't ya? Well..mm..hmm. yeah well I mean it can;t just make the song even worse than Ying Yang twins mm...hmm, well uh yeah I hate to be moral stick in the mud...but I have to get this rant out. I know you don't want to hear me rant but I got to get this out right now, GUUUYS!!! THIS SONG IS IN THE TOP 10 OF NOT JUST WORST SONGS OF 2006, BUT ONE OF THE WORST SONGS EVER MADE!!!! THE WHISTLING, JULEZ SANTANA, THE SCARY BEAT!!! It ALL comes together in a way that is HORRENDOUS!!! Ugh I just wanna be done with this song...Can we just MOVE ON NOW!!? I really don;t wanna cover the next two songs really I don't. 2. Fergie - London Bridge 2006 was when the Black Eyed Peas broke up and started to focus on other projects. Will.I.Am has been around producing songs for other artists like the Pussycat Dolls and Flo Rida. However, only one other person went on to become a solo artist, and it is hands down the biggest mistake she has ever made. Trust me, this song is the worst song that Fergie has ever made period. Heck I will even go so far as to say that this song is even worse than Gwen Stefani's Hollaback Girl, and heck even The Pussycat Dolls - Beep. This song is the most annoying song that I have ever heard in my entire life. First off, is the production, which sounds like literal ear rape, and especially this same of some black men screaming "Oh snap", every third or fourth measure. Second off is Fergie herself probably giving off the most annoying rap of her entire career. There are lot of white people that can rap, but they need to be able to understand the art of rapping. Rapping shouldn't come off as a joke, it should have meaning, it should have maturity, it should be distinctive, it should be relatable. Yes, there are songs that not like that at all like Don't Cha by the Pussycat Dolls that don;t have any idea, but that song is a part of my childhood because it was least catchy. This song has little to no excuse at all. Third off is the title, why "London Bridge"? I get it, it is supposed to be a comedy rap song, and that I get, but why choose something that has little to nothing to do WITH YOUR OWN LIFE!!! THAT IS JUST INSULTING!!! Bottom line, this song is annoying, has no meaning in it at all, and the lyrics have nothing to do with people who might be going through something at all. However, even with all of that, even with the annoyances that were "Snap Yo Fingers", "There it Go (The Whistle Song) , and this monstrosity, it is STILL not #1. Well what is it than? What could possibly be even worse? Well we shall get to that but first lets go one over the 20 DISHONORABLE MENTIONS!!!! I mean good God this is year is so bad that there's over 20 honorable mentions that I have to go through. Thats how bad this year is, and if you like some of thee songs, well your made out of stronger metal than me. Dishonorable Mentions
Daniel Power - Bad Day
Kelis Feat. Too $hort - Bossy
Gwen Stefani - Crash
Cherish Feat. Sean Paul of YoungBloodZ - Do it, Do it
Okay, now that we have gotten through all 20 honorable mentions TIME TO BASH AND DESTROY THE CRAP OUT OF #1!!!! 1. Jibbs - Chain Hang Low Okay, heres a another confession that i would like to make, I am a sucker for children's music. Unlike regular music children's songs are the types of songs that are being passed on from generation to generation. Regular music does the same thing, but its only dependent on what era you used to live in. Children's music is universal, and is the same collection of songs, that never changes, ever. Children's music is a sacred art. So, what does the music industry do? *deep breath RUIN THE CRAP OUT OF IT AND DESTROY THE MANY LIVES OF CHILDREN!!!!!!! Oh, and if you think that this should've been WAY lower on my list? Oh ho ho ho, well I am going to tell you why this song is not just the worst song of 2006, but one of the worst songs EVER MADE. First off is Jibbs terrible rapping voice. Is it perfect combination of being annoying while also having little to no UNIQUE personality. Second off, is the tune and the fact that its a brag anthem. Sure, kids songs are repetitive, but at least those are not like brag anthems. This song is a brag anthem in every worse way possible. This is up there with the song "What U Gon Do" as a one of the worst brag anthems of all time. All he do is that he talks about how low is chain can go, and thats it. Third off is that retched kids chorus that not only does not even care, but make the song even more infuriating because they're MOCKING CHILDREN'S MUSIC AS A HOLE!!!! Oh and don;t even get me started on the LYRICS of this song. This is one of the worst songs ever made, not just because of the way it mocks children's music, but it also how it completely misrepresents the art of music as a whole, and that is just heartbreaking. Now with alot of the bad songs on this list I can think of at least 1 or 2 or even three elements that could've been good in another song. This song literally has nothing to offer. Even with Snap yo Fingers, the other pathetic crunk song, I at least felt like LIL JON was enjoying himself, not here. This song is not an art piece, its a product. If you like it thats fine, but I wish I never have to hear this song again. Well Thats it for my top 20 worst songs of 2006, thank god that I finally got done with the crap stuff/ However, things will definitely pick up when I count down the top 20 best songs of 2006, so stay tuned for that. So what did you think about my picks for the top 20 worst songs of 2006? What do you think are the top 20 worst songs of 2006? Let me know in the comments down below
2020.06.08 20:03 cyclone_madgeIs there some basic story progression with the newest patch or pack?
I got Eco Lifestyle for my birthday yesterday, and decided to use an old save that I haven't touched in months to test it out. First I made a new Sim and moved her into the container house in Port Promise. I played her for about a week and a half (in Sim time) and then decided to switch over to the Harris household in Grims Quarry. (That's the Beverly Hilbillies-ish family.) Shortly after I started playing them, a Sim named Ciara Shaver called Cletus up and asked if he wanted to go on a date. I declined, thinking it was some weird bug since I was pretty sure I'd never even seen Ciara before, but then checked their relationship panel and found out that they were sweethearts with a pretty high friendship level as well. I've tried searching for her name and all I get is a bunch of hits for a lung transplant doctor in Nashville, so I assume she's just a random townie. There's a chance Cletus hooked up with a townie while I was playing the other Sim, but I spent most of my time with her at the local maker space, and Sims there are too busy hogging all the equipment to get much romancing done. So I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else. Is it a new feature in the game? Is Cletus programmed to have a randomly-chosen side piece? Or was it just a fluke? ETA - I don't have any mods/cc in the game right now. I took them out before the last patch and have been too lazy to update them.
2020.05.24 12:00 violinjstarConfirming NFT/Video Releases of Certain Videos
I've been seeing some Frozen (Ciara) , Meangirls (Cameron Dallas, tour, broadway understudies), ofc beetlejuice floating around the internet. Could someone confirm which of these (if any) have past their NFT date and are correctly circulating? And probably also confirming which haven't would be great for the wider community too :) Thanks!
Four weddings and a funeral: We were looking at the canvas and realized we had all these couples who were in a solid place that probably should be getting married, or at least contemplating getting married. It was a little overwhelming because were like, "Well, which wedding or proposal should we be focusing on?" and, 'How are we going to space these out?" We didn't want to have one wedding on top of the other. And then we're like, 'well, why not?" So we came up with the idea of four weddings and a funeral;. Once a week in July, you'll have a wedding and it will kind of culminate in this funeral, as well." Eli/Lani: That was one of our couples we thought would be getting engaged, Lani's looking at the calendar to figure out a date where they could get married that would not interfere with Ben and Ciara or whoever else is getting married. She suddenly has a reaction and realizes that she's late. They go do a pregnancy test and she's pregnant. In addition to their wedding, we have the onset of this pregnancy, which is a joyous thing and yet it comes with a lot of trepidation, especially for Lani, since she had been pregnant before and lost the child, David Abraham. While Eli is thrilled, we see that Lani is less thrilled, and basically it's fear of, 'I can't go through that again,' So that is something that they tackle together and come to a decision about whether or not to continue with this pregnancy, We also wanted at little soapy goodness in there, so there are a couple of uninvited guests that may shake up the wedding proceedings. Steve/Kayla: "'Hope, John and Marlena talk to Steve and encourage him to put himself out there and just let Kayla make the decision of who she wants to be with, him or Justin. .Steve finally decides, ' You know what, I'm going to stop beating myself up and I'm just going to tell her how I feel. I really do want her back and I still love her." As he goes to tell her, he stops short because he sees Justin down on one knee proposing to Kayla. Steve backs off and Kayla does not learn how he feels. .Now we have those two engaged, It's not going to be a long engagement or a long wait. As we're building to this wedding of Justin and Kayla, the question is, is Steve going to remain backed off or is he going to say something before Kayla marries Justin?" Eric/Nicole: Eric and Nicole, even before the time jump, were in a place where Eric was about to propose. So when we were looking over the couples, we were looking over the couples, we were like, "Why aren't these tow married? They were actually back together throughout the whole time jump." They do get engaged. While they're looking forward to the wedding, Allie Horton shows up on Uncle Eric's doorstep and instantly turns their lives upside down. She's now older---we made her a legal age but still on the young side. She's got a secret that she ends up confiding in Eric and Nicole, but something that she doesn't want her parents to know. It's a really fun reintroduction of this character. We kind of thought of her in some ways as like a mini-Sami, as somebody that will come in and shake things up. Besides Eric and Nicole, it will ultimately pull Lucas and Sonny and Will and Rafe into her story." Ciara/Ben/Claire: "Ben didn't want to get married until he could afford to buy Ciara a diamond ring. .He's been saving his money from the garage. But Jake has been mixed up with some dangerous people who are after him. Ben, by working there, got pulled into it. While planning a wedding, at the same time they're pulled into this mess that Jake is in. Ciara and Ben are both potentially in danger themselves now. But in addition, Clare gets released from Bayview. Claire has basically been given a clean bill of health. She seems to be some what fixated on Ben and Ciara's nuptials, fixated in the sens of wanting to be part of it, wanting to help because of the suffering she caused them. She wants to help give them this perfect romantic wedding. So the audience has to sort of wait and see what are her true motives. Ben and Ciara are both understandingly cautious of Claire, but at the same time, Ciara is a little more open than Ben to letting Claire back into their lives because they're family, Belle/ Shawn: If Claire is going to get out of Bayview, then Belle and Shawn have to be a part of the story and a part of that decision. They come from Hong Kong to help be part of that decision of Claire getting out. They want Claire to come back with them, But Claire is adamant that she wants to stay and make amends with Ciara. .That is her No 1 priority. She finagles living with Grandma Marlena. Belle and Shawn go along with this idea, but they're going to stick close around for a while to make sure that Claire is doing as well as she seems to be. Gabi/Jake: Gabi has made it her mission to help Jake remember who he really is. At the same time, her pushiness has gotten her right into the middle of this dangerous situation that Jake is in with these guys that are chasing after him. It's a potential for Jake and Gabi to bond further," Jake's ex-girlfriend Gwen, will factor in to the story. "In order to put an end to this situation with the people who are after him, Jake has to track down his ex, the mischievous Gwen, I don't want to give too much away, She is kind of the key to him resolving the issues with these bad people. It will also be interesting to see how Gabi reacts when she finds out that Jake has an ex-girlfriend. Chad: "He planted himself there in Florida to look after Abigail. We had him off the Canvas for ab it. As Gabi's trial is about to start, Chad shows back up in town and is determined to help put her away. That puts Chad back up against Gabi and we'll pull him into all of the stuff she's gotten herself into as well." Will/Sonny: "Right before last Mother's day, they decided that they wanted to have another child, And then, of course, fate intervened and Will went to jail. Now that he's out and they're back together, they decided to pick up where they left off." but they're not sure how they want to do ti. They start investigating all of the possibilities and something happens where an options is presented to them and it will give them a pathway to having a child." XandeSarah/Brady: "Sarah's written Xander off for good. She really wants to punish him for what he did to her Brady becomes the perfect co-conspirator because he hates Xander with a passion, too. They pretend to be together just to get under Xander's skin. For Brady, it's not just Xander that he wants to hurt, it's also Victor. Brady's plan is to basically run Titan in to the ground and that's the way to really hurt Victor.
2020.05.07 23:46 turkeyonry16Maybe a hot take, but hear me out...
I think Paget and Ciara are pretty good together from what we see. We don't see much of their relationship off-camera which is odd considering they lived on the boat together before this. But they have a mutual respect that he is her boss and when it comes to the job, they put their work before each other and their relationship. Yes, I would like to see them do a date or something together or at least something that shows they are boyfriend/girlfriend because off of charter they're kind of indifferent to each other
